So after looking at the Iron Warriors paint scheme and fluff after a while, I realised don't really like them. Sorry if this offends any of you but yeah, I don't like them. SO! I still need to explain the Havocs ad Raptors in my force, and they can't be World Eaters. And I have this in my workshop: http://imageshack.us/a/img507/9056/img3932s.jpg My friends old Night Lords. He stopped playing the hobby, so he dumped them on me. So now I have that many more bits to use :P :P I am turning the Havoc Squad into Night Lord allies as well as the Raptors (that I don't have yet >.>). I am now building a Night Lord Chaos Marine squad that will be able to double as a few things. There isn't anything there, I checked ;) Thanks for commenting. I agree, friends bits are the best xD especially now that I take all his Dark Eldar and am glueing corpses on my RHINOES! because they are my MEHTAL BAWKSES. So yeah :P I will be updating in a few hours with the 5 man Night Lords squad. They are a close combat squad and I am writing fluff for them as well. Fortunatly that was the Squad photo... So I'll put that up for now along with a bit of fluff for each of them and an explanation of whythe Night Lords are with the World Eaters. Fourth Claw: http://imageshack.us/a/img255/941/img3934a.jpg So now for fluff: Explanation (for the WE/NL alliance): In the Night Lords Trilogy by A D-B there is a character called Uzas. At the end of the second book, he is told to "stain his hands in sinner's red". Basically painting his hands blood-red to designate that he is a sinner and is prone to violence and can be executed by his Lord. All the Night Lords in the alliance have their hands stained with sinner's red, because they are all very dangerous criminals. I will have 4 squads of 5. 1 Havoc Squad (the Fabulous Havocs), 1 close combat squad that will be counts-as berserkers (4th Claw), and 2 Raptor squads (Bleeing Eyes). They are for the most part goingto be wearing sinner's red and those that aren't... will just be khornate a bit... I have a few plans for it though. From Left to Right: Dagotar the Blood Hand: Dagotar murdered his previous sergeant during the Horus Heresy. He did this because he thought the other man a coward. He feels no remorse for it and bears the sinner's red with pride in his eyes. He carries the plasma pistol of the man he murdered to remind him of this memory and unlike what was intended, to him, this is a joyous memory. Valsko the Fallen: A man who once was a pure Night Lord warrior, believing in using fear as a tool, now so fallen. Valsko is the farthest fallen of the Nght Lords of 4th Claw. A pure devoteeof Khorne, he doesn't even care for his equipement. His helmet is scored with scars from previous engagements, and his bolter is lost somewhere on a forgotten planet, he is by far the most fallen of the Night Lords. Dacrus the Headtaker: A merciless warrior, Dacrus doesn't wear the sinner's red. Instead, he has deemed himself the watcher. He watches over the sinned and makes sure they stay in line. He is known as the headtaker for his many feats of destroying his opponents heads and only their heads, not harming a single thing on the rest of their bodies. This has marked his as a very careful and calculating warrior, and he is well known within the warband, even by Arthrax himself. Brevian the Silent: Many believe that the sisters of silence are the only warriors who choose not to speak. However, Brevian has not said a single word since his initiation into the ranks of the Night Lords on Terra. No one knows wether his vocal chords are damaged or he just chooses not to speak, but all fear him none the less. His skills with a sword have not dulled since the Horus Heresy, and it is his weapon of choice. He has not sinned and no one knows why he fights with 4th Claw and the Chosen of Arthrx, but he does so anyway, not saying a word. Kreshax the Torturer: The Torturer, they call him. The Skinner. The Flesh Taker. Many names exist for what Kreshav does. Many people even commit the attrocities he does, but unlike them, Kreshax enjoys it. Initiated into the Night Lords already bearing the sinner's red from his days on Nostramo, Kreshax had commited 43 murders before he had turned 17. Many feared his name, for he did not just kill his victims. No, he skinned them alive, letting them watch until he was done, and then let them torment themselves to death while he used their skin to make clothes for himself. Even now, he skins his victims alive when time allows it, and wears their skin upon his armor. Some havetried to stop him from doing this, and have ended up a piece of his cloak, and now none dare interupt his work. That's all for today. I love that you've named each one - I am in the process of doing that for each of my truescaled Sons of Tyr (need to get to updating that log properly, hmmm...). Vorashta's paintjob is looking slick. Also, the shot of Arthrax earlier in the thread (the CoC shot) from above makes him look much better - it must have been a perspective thing before, suddenly he looks really good. I actually like Arthrax a lot more, and Vorashta is almost done being painted. I only name characters I use in short stories I sometimes write. All the Night Lords are characters, my skull champs are characters, Vehicles are characters, and my elites/HQ's are as well. I have lots of fun coming up with names as well as fluff for them. All characters are thought out a bit, or I come up with it on the spot. Sometimes on-the-spot is better when I can look at the model and decide what I want him to be. November 2nd, and my first update. Brother Nihm has asked us all to post a photo of our call without any paint on them. Primer is allowed but nothing else. Lord of Blades Posted November 5, 2012 Author Share Posted November 5, 2012 This is the Terminator update I wanted to do. After this update I will post a small update on the Night Lords Chosen. I hae decided to run two armies. My Main Force will be the World Eaters with a very tiny force of Night Lords. They will be run in 1 list, but will allow me to have a very varied list. The Night Lords will be in this thread as they are my allies, but will have their own list. So far I have them planned as: 1 Chaos Sorcerer or Lord, a Chosen squad, a Cultist squad, 1 Chaos Marine Squad, 2 Raptor Squads and a Havoc Squad. They will pretty much all be based off of the Night Lords Trilogy and will have a TON of specially modeled characters. So... Terminators... I haven't gotten any work on them done, mainly due to the fact that I am still not sure what to paint them as... Well, consideringyour the only one to vote, and the fact that I like that idea, I guess I'll go with that :P Anyways, as for todays update, I have been working on the Night Lords characters. Namely First Claw, the characters from the Night Lords Trilogy. The psoe feels good for his character, and he looks pretty good. He is going to be armed with a twin linked bolter (not modeled yet) and a power sword. It sounded big and wicked so I always wanted to try and make one. So when I decided to make Xarl, the Executioner was high on the list if priorities. I like his pose, it sorta screams "IMA KILL YOU NOW!" and I love his character. His pose was the hardest part. I wanted something that was blood thirsty and like a lone stalker/hunter type pose and I think I got it. His axe is composed of 4 components. The arm is a SM captain arm with the chainsword cut off, the bar is a banner pole, the axe is a berserker helm and the hand is from some random kit I forget :/ I am working on Mercutian, the heavy bolter man, and I am thinking that Variel and Cyrion will come later. I definetly want to make some other NL characters from the Trilogy so expect to see Garadon, Malek, V-something(the lightning claw guy from the first book), Lucoryphaus and probably the War Sage if I get to it. Xarl will probably be getting one of the ornamental Bat Wing helms. And Uzas will most likely be a converted helm. I might try to get a Forge World bit from my friend but he is pretty clingy to bits... I'll see what I can convert as well for both of them.
