Thanks! If you know of a good template out there I'm still working on their IA, I'm currently trying to match the fiction to the modeling reality. The idea is after astounding losses to a series of phyric victories the chapter(coalition) was reduced to just 228 battle brothers, from a chapter(coalition) who once prided themselves in their ability to "prosecute war in every theatre, simultaneously, thrice over".

It's a fairly simple recipe of white primer, Lamenters yellow then flash gitz/sunburst yellow layered on in alternating coats until the only place they blend in is the local Rhino Cab fleet lot ;)

 

To digress a bit. My first original idea for the IX is that it was a coalition of seconded task forces from 2nd-4th founding loyalist chapters. Brought together to liberate the Kantaris Sector, the home to a number of ancient forges lost to warp storms, anarchy, and xenos. By the end of the only surviving geneseed lines are those of Blood Angels, Dark Angels, and Salamanders, or Imperial Fists, but everyone is already doing such nice fists, and I think Sallies successors would fluff wise make so much more sense as to why they're as we'll outfitted as they are for a chapter almost dead. I have a lot of disaparate ideas that hopefully end up coming togther at some point.

I, NovemberIX of the LIBER ASTARTES, vow on the honor of my Chapter to paint and present at least 1 squad of Terminators, a Librarian, 1 Predator, 1 Vindicator, 1 Whirlwind, and 1 Storm Talon on or before the 31st of March, 2013. I promise to provide at least two WIP updates, preferably with pictures, in that time. I vow that if I should fail, I will provide the Librarium with an article and wear the Signature of Shame until my penitence period is done.

Primed everything out previously, magnetized the sponson, and mostly destroyed the whirlwind launcher by trying to move things before they were solid.

I worked on the Storm Talon for a bit this last week. Unfortunately I wasn't as careful with the step by step documentation, so here are a few selected shots.

Here it is mostly painted. I figured with this one I'd try a few color variation as compared to my first storm talon. The engine fairings were done in black and trimmed with Mordian blue as compared to yellow and black.

A Predator, very plain. In fact all my Predators are quite plain, much like the Terminus Ultra that leads this hunting pack.

Terminators, two squads of such, I had originally only planned to do five, but somehow it actually ended up with 15 getting done and painted. (5 assault, 5 from a box, and 3 from DV, a Lysander and a half done Tyberos)

The Sgt. Since I used the body from AOBR I wanted to change a few details so he didn't look my other regular AOBR model. Hence the Aquila on the chest and on top.

I know Librarians are generally done in a seperate scheme from the rest of the army to pick them out, but going back to one of the early design choices I made, I want all my Specialist (Libs, Chaps, Techs, Apoths) to wear the chapter colors, with their specialist colors as an accent. With this guy done, I'm halfway to done with my Librarian corps, now just to model up a Biker and a Jump Librarian.

As we can see I wasn't just working on my LPC vow, I've been in a scramble to finish up my regular units so that I can get started on some of my Forgeworld. The lack of ornamentation, and badges is more a design choice though. Who needs unit numbers when you're whole force consists of 228 fighting men, 2 fighting women, and a statue (plus a very full motor pool)

To finish off, I also had participated in a small competition at one of the local GW stores and got started on my Blood Angel Allied Detachment. Though to be fair, I think I'm gonna model these guys up to be used as either Death Company or just regular (if ornate) Assault Troops. I also have a squad of Legion of the damned to get painted up too. Coincidentally, I keep wondering to myself, are all my new troops an attempt at holding off on the nightmare that is my storm eagle build up next though, are some Jet Bikes

I still need to finish out the winglets and install its wep. I've also yet to decide if I want to swap out the torsos to some of the plastics and use the mk IV's for another project.

What I'm most excited about though are the alternate storm shields I got from our own Opr8or.

These things are awesome, the detail is super crisp, and the amount of real estate to fit purity seals and the like is great.

Hidden in the background are another little project I've been working on. I wanted to model up a jump pack squad with thunder hammers. These guys are the start of that. I'll run them either as death company allies or vanguard vets. to make them a bit different they're all gonna have helmets from my flyer kits, also matching through the squad are the faceted torsos from the death company sprue.

On a side note, I've decided to offer my autoshops services to anyone willing to take on my storms Eagle build as trade. Every time I look at it, I shiver in fear...

For the last few days I've been kicking around the idea of a Jump Pack HQ, to that end I got to thinking about the Fire Hawks Knight-Capitain Elam Courbray. Here's my take on a counts-as for the November Warriors.

This guy is pretty much a complete kit bash, capitain's torso and iron halo, assault squad legs and jump pack, a Black Templar Sword off a random eBay rescue, Blood Angels Pistol, bits from ironclad, furioso, and venerable dreadnoughts. I wanted him to have a MK.VI helmet that matched the Squad I'm thinking of embedding him with.

So his sword is off a eBay buy I did a while back, as we can see it's missing a few details, I figured the chains place it with the Black Templars. I hope it adds the right dynamism. I also started trying to add light wear on some of the edges.

The model itself came from a eBay buy and glued together quite solidly. Luckily it was still unprimed so I could get a nice blast of Duplicolor white on it.

The Helios is sorta the last Land Raider I built, sorta. The long and short of it is, I had the parts for a very long time, and it was half built for a while until one day I finally decided to just get it done.

Argent as much as I would love to take some credit for those shields, Opr8or made such an awesome product that they can't help but look good even with my small amount of skill. I only wish I could get some more, and maybe hope he'd make some infantry sized ones because I think they'd make great boarding shields.
