Hi all,

Hope you all had a good xmas and new year.

My beloved got me a Dreadknight and a DE razorwing jet fighter for xmas and this is what I did with it.

Attached 2 of the blades to the DK legs and 2 after burners to the rear hydraulics.

Extended to torso with some cupolas and a tyre from some left over spares and added the DK arm hydraulics to the sides.

Clipped the front off of the razorwing and attached it to the front of the DK where the termy would normally sit.

I clipped off the inner 2 exhausts as this back piece would form part of the mounting for the wings

Built the rest of the DE flyer as per normal (sort of) with the Dark lances counting as the TL lascannon

Had a lot of fun making the guns look as cool as possible before attaching them to the body.

This one will count as a reaper cannon...

...and this one is the TL heavy flamer

The end result was this

Added a few more missiles to the wings. These would count as the havoc launcher. Finally the wings slot into place and I am left with a Decepticon for my Chaos army.

This will be the last thing any imperial will see before being blasted :D

And here is a size comparison between Starscream and a normal marine

There are still some things to do. I need to make a head but I don't know if I should go for the classic box head or the new sleeker version from the movies.

I plan on adding a battle cannon to the central hole in the wing section then it will a case of embellishing it with armour plates and getting out the paint brushes.

What do you think guys n gals?

All C&C welcome.

There is a female starscream? :)

Yeah in the Warner Bros. Transformers cartoon series, somehow Starscream was split into 7 "clones". Each clone represented one aspect of his personality. They have thus far refused to state what his single female clone represented.

That would be Whisper and she actually just represented ol' Screamers feminine side

OT: Looks pretty damn cool :D

I'd go with the new style head, would probably be easier to make from existing Defiler head parts.

Whilst I love the conversion, I was rather hoping for G1 Starscream than the "Movie" version :)

I wonder how this compares in scale against MadScuzzy's Orktimus Prime? ;)

I'm waiting for someone truly insane heroic to make Metroplex or Trypticon out of the Wall of Martyrs stuff! ^_^

"Metroplex answers the call of Dorn....I mean Prime!" ;)

Now I have the urge to build Fortress Maximus with a captain in place of Spike Witwicky.. I could use a GK knight thingie as Cerebro.. maybe set it up like the Imperial Fortification and it transforms into an Imperator Titan... *checks stocks of supplies*

This is as close to g1 as I could get considering I still need to be able to use it as a defiler. It will be painted in the g1 colour scheme complete with yellow cockpit glass and purple deception markings.

I am considering a defiler/baneblade hybrid (all hail Megatron).

On a personal note, ADB thinks I'm a genius. My 40k life is at an end - I do not need to achieve anything else. I'm not being sarcastic, this has genuinely put a smile on my face.

Am I the only one not to like this model?

First off, I'm not into (don't get me wrong now, I know I'm moving on veeeery difficult terrain!) interracial conversions.

Second, having looked at several interpretations of Starscream, I don't think this conversion will work out. The lower part of his torso would make any sort of movement impossible. You could have used the jet's nose as leg armour instead of a loincloth.

Also, to me, the whole model seems very static. If I understood that correctly, Starscream is a lightning-fast robot (transforming into a jetfighter) and should be at least posed in some combat-ready stance.

I apologize if my criticism comes across too harsh (which I honestly don't believe) and I hope it was constructive enough. :D

Thanks for the constructive feedback Rogan. I know that cross-overs aren't everyones cup to tea, I myself, love them. I have a "Cylon/Necron" task force for my Chaos marines consisting of a bretonia damsel painted as Caprica 6, a unit of converted Immortals as Centurions and a Night scythe as Cylon raider.

Yes, the model is very static but it's based around a dreadknight chasis and I lack the time and patience to pull of some fancy leg conversion and in robot mode Starscream was no quicker than any other transformer. I would much rather have a static model that (I think) looks good as opposed to a botched conversion that is either unusable or looks naff.

I am considering cutting off the blades and re-positioning them. I'll see if I can mock up some pics and post them later.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the marine in the last photo. Tiny as he is you can still make out a symbol on the right should pad.

He's a test model that I did last year and this year I'm going to do a whole army like this.

Here are some close ups

The colour scheme is base on the G1 Galvatron and the army will focus on rapid insertion - massed firepower. LOTS of drop pods and bolters.

It's not my best painting and still need high lighting, cleaning up and basing. I'm thinking about industrial floor panels with a black edge or something bright like a yellow desert or green fields? I'm not sure yet so and input from my peers would be useful.

Cheers all.
