Great work as usual Elmo, when do we see a full army shot again? :P

As for the Scions, they'd make great carapace Vets. If you cut the cables from the guns then they'd look like different model lasguns. You don't even need to do that if you didn't want :)

Thanks guys :)

The camera battery is now charged enough to go for it so here is the group shot (including the old scheme Chimera which will be going in for a repaint soon) and I have also taken some better shots of the infantry as I now have some great backing paper :)

I also have 3 Psykers but they are in need of a repaint so I will save them.

Wonderful! Great to see, maybe one day I'll get round to a decent army shot. I'll need to borrow a camera from someone first :P

You'll have to settle for a Chimera picture later today ;) Keep up the progress Elmo, it's great to see an army grow especially when it is a well painted one :)

More growing... :smile.:

The Hellhounds are now primed and base sprayed. The next step will be deserting them up on Monday then the detailing can begin.

This pleases me greatly! Keep adding more tanks, the Omnissiah and Emperor demand it - and so do I! :laugh.:

Much like World Peace, it's an unobtainable utopia to strive for, rather than a realistic target. :P

How true ;)

I don't think I have ever not had a painting queue :(

Not much progress on the hellhounds. Got distracted painting the chemical barrels and glueing more footsloggers together.

Work has been continuing in the background on the Hellhounds/Bane Wolves/Devil Dogs and they are now at a factory paint finish along with the commanders bodies painted. Next comes the inking/washes, a bit of detailing, decals and weathering :smile.:

I hope to be complete for the end of next week then a quick 10 snap fit Cadians as a change from vehicles before moving on to gluing some of the Baneblade together.

edited for poor spooking - Damn spell chukka.

It's a real pleasure to see so many tanks done so quickly, great as always Elmo :) I'm feeling like I might soon need to switch from armour to infantry too but that will all follow my nefarious plans nicely :D

This really makes me want to get more Hellhounds...

Elmo you truly are a first rate assembly line :biggrin.:

Your force really does look like a very well painted cohesive one, it's clearly planned that way!

I'm wondering if one of the figures in this thread (or a future one coming) is actually a small version of yourself?!

Thanks cod :)  I have not really given any thought to if I am to make an appearance as a figure, but it is an interesting idea. You are correct that I did have an overall picture in my head of how the army would look before I began. This was helped by the work on my previous projects with the DA and the extra work I now need to do on my Tau because I changed my mind half way into the project.

It is definitely worth doing some test figures before you commit to an completely new army as this one was :)

Get some. They are really nice models to build. I find that sometimes I need a break from one model type to keep myself fresh and motivated, hence some meatsacks next and I may even get around to painting my new commissar, Admiral Olga Kurganova

I'm not really liking the Raging Heroes line, though I do have one of the Commissar models. I might have to add some Victoria miniatures to my "to do" list too... would that I had the money and time for everything!

Olga was a bit of an impulse buy and I did not realise how skinny she was till I opened the clamshell and had a look at the model in real life next to a Cadian. Definitely not 28mm heroic scale. She would fit with my Mantic Elysians though. Now I have reminded myself I have another 35 of them sat in the box waiting for paint :(

However it is a challenge so I will give it my best, maybe bulk the base up to give her a bit of a commanding presence and there is no plan for exposed chest flesh on mine, she will have a black body glove the same as assassins. Hopefully this will dull down teenage hormones around the table if and when she makes an appearance. :ph34r.:

Mine was a gift of sorts, but she's too skinny to fit in. I'll focus on the models I need on the table top first and maybe get round to her eventually.

I think you could do with a few more troopers though, as great as tanks are!
