Inso is correct on the Chimera "counts as"

With some extra GW bits thrown at them till they stuck ;)

The Rough Riders' lances look great! Did you scratchbuild them from a grenade and a combat knife, or are they Games Workshop products designed to look like something a guardsman will improvise from available materiel?

They are done using a grenade from the ogryn kit and with a SM combat knife on brass rod.

I've said it before but you have certainly turned those ropy old bikes into a thing of beauty :)

 

When you first showed them off (before clean-up and paint), they looked dreadful but now... awesome :)

Starting the Guard for 2018 we have 3 Leman Russes including a Commissariat Command Leman Russ for the Commissar to travel in style while drinking Amasec and dispensing The Emperors justice.

These have been vowed on the Trooping the Colour hobby advent but the WIP will be shown here to avoid spamming photos all over the forum

"In the name of the Emperor and Lord Commander , I Commissar Elmo of the 711th Cadian Combined Arms Brigade , shall raise 3 Leman Russ Tanks and an Armoured Reconnaissance Car by 31st March."

Start photos: The Russes had been base sprayed in Tamiya NATO green as is my want and the Armoured Car (counts as Chimera points wise) is still in the build phase.

As expected the Martian Brotherhood have seeded the vehicles with holy magnets

Work is progressing nicely on an additional 2 Leman Russ tanks and a Commissariat Command Leman Russ.

Just weapons, tracks, detailing, decals and weathering to do

Hopefully will be completed by next weekend.

It is a Staghound 1:35 from Italeri - throw some Guard stuff at it and see what sticks, paint it in my usual vehicle scheme and call it a counts as Chimera for gaming purposes ;)

The build phase is now complete on the Armoured Reconnaissance Car and it will be going into the spray shop this weekend. I plan to have it complete by the end of Feb.

So far the build list has been:

Base model - 1:35 Italeri Staghound Mk. 1 - Late version (No. 6552)

Anvil industry boxes (light grey)

GW parts (vehicle crewman, Autocannon, Smoke dischargers, Stubber, IG radio pack, Aquila, hull mounted HB, tow hook)

Guitar wire antenna

Two heavy stubbers? Or (as the M1919 machine gun is noticeably smaller than the heavy stubber) a heavy stubber and a pintle-mounted... sniper rifle?

My version of the 50 cal (stubber) and 30 cal (pencil at the rear ;) )

 

Not glued on so it may not make it to the final cut...

And as a bonus I started on 2 Las-Cannons on Anvil Industry carriages :)

Should be done in approx. 10 days or so..

That is quite an impressive army
