Those the Scribor doors?   There are a lot of us doing a mixed scheme...  Cause tan and green just go together...

They are from Chapterhouse Studios.

I bought them with the "pimp my Raven kit".

And you are right, bone and green just seems to work sooo well.

No pictures today unfortunately as there is not much new to see.

The dozer blade has been filled with greenstuff now I need to wait until it has set before it can be sanded.

I have highlighted the DA green with snot green and have started to paint some boltgun on the engine grills and some vents.

The heavy flamer magnets have been moved higher and look more central now.

Apart from that not much at all ;)

Here is the latest project report.....

The gaps in the dozer blade have been untidily filled with greenstuff and I will start to sand it down tomorrow so I will be able to spray it on the weekend.

The rams have been extended using plasticard and need sanding smooth.

The sponson doors have been painted

Extra rivets have been added to the Vindicator glacis plate to make it less boring.

and the lenses have been painted along with the cupolas and the sponson targeters. The DA winged swords have been given an initial codex grey basing.

At this stage it seems to take a long time to see results but it should start to come together as a whole by the middle of next week. I always paint sub assemblies first then bring it all together just before weathering.

@The_Chaplain: I use this tutorial with Scab red, Blood red, Blazing orange, Black ink, Skull white finished off in a Gloss varnish. I can give you a step by step if you need it.

@ Dark Rage: I plan to go all out and have an Angel of Death against a burning city. That should be fun to paint no.gif

@ Larhendiel: Thanks. I tend to do all the doors like that and it is fairly simple. Boltgun with a black ink wash then edge highlight in silver. The yellow is Golden yellow with a burnt umber wash and scratches marked on in pencil.

Thanks facmanpob - steal away ;)

Another evening of randomly slapping paint onto bits of plastic and I have ended up with...

Both weapon sponsons are now complete

http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/IMAG0081_zps0e0aaffd.jpg

Work is in progress on the DA doors and extra armour - I am going to go for stone for most of the DA symbols as I prefer it to bleached bone.

http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/IMAG0082_zpsc1ed0c7f.jpg

The assault cannon mount is just about done

http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/IMAG0083_zps84d10a5b.jpg

The dozer blade has been sanded down and any uneven sections will now become weathered or battle damaged during the painting a it was too fiddly to get it perfectly smooth. Also added more rivets.

And finally I have started on the glacis plate

Slowly but surely progress is being made :)

Thanks EPK thanks.gif

Here is the end of week update - the plan is to spray the dozer blade over the weekend then get to work on the weapons and finish off the body next week.

Elmo, I want to hate you so much for how much you've been able to do on this, but I can't. It's fantastic, you magnetizing fiend! Really like the appearance you've achieved, the adjusted dozer blade looks great and the magnetized glacis plate... Dude, I barely have Terminators sticky-tacked together!

Looking forward to some awesome dozer blade freehand!

@The_Chaplain: Thanks - I will explain my vision of the artwork in a moment...

@Bryan: But they are awesome termies...

@Bobz:: Thanks verily much but I have to admit that the bone bits came from the datasheet picture but as I have previously wrote, green and bone just goes together sooo well.

@Crusader_Weber: It's a manly man thing smile.png Master of the Forge now Master of the Ironwing - its a dream come true thanks.gif

@Aridene: Thanks Brother

It is only fair to let you all into my plan for the dozer art which I have been in secret discussion with Master Avoghai about (Ssshhhhh ph34r.png )

My plan is to have a city in flames:

Imagine if you will the background - shattered Gothic ruins in front of a dark brooding sky. In the middle distance the ruins give way to fire whilst in the foreground the Angel of Death stalks with sword unsheathed, his dark cowl seeming to stare into your very soul.

Are You Pure, Are you Strong, Are you Unforgiven?

Now just have to work out how to paint it wallbash.gif

Good work on the conversion brother but it's the epic siege shield that we're all waiting for now. No pressure. wink.png

You don't appear to have painted the vents you took from the vindicator kit. Are they separate from the rest of the hull?

They are going to be left loose for the transformation into the Crusader/Redeemer and I will be spraying them with the siege shield.

I am feeling the pressure to work wonders on the siege shield already sad.png

Damn you brain! Think before committing yourself to things in writing!

If I don't pull this off now I will be thrown from The Rock in ignominy. Cell 42 will not be enough for a transgression of this scale!

Now just have to work out how to paint it

Go on google, find some images of burning cities, imperial buildings and angels of death that inspire you.  Then find a reference picture for skeletal hands, and hands pointing swords.  After that, brew a couple pots of coffee/grab a case of something caffeinated, put on some heavy metal or whatever it is you listen to while working and rock the :cuss out of this piece!

At least you vowed just to paint it, and decided against making it a sculpture/relief piece!

I have been searching the web and have found this but I plan to have a more 3/4 side profile with the sword held above the head, parallel to the ground and some wings.

And I will be doing the flames along the same idea as my RW standard

And these are nice looking ruins
