What if I like actual barbies?

 

Well, since I'm sure most of us like(or did like) GI Joes, Power Rangers, Batman and Superman, we probably shouldn't hold it against you, O Great Queen of Darkness.

I want you to know I may or may not have an poster of the Megazord signed by Amy Jo Johnson and Austin St. John dated 1994... just sayin'

 

But hey, how about that heresy? I'm actually eyeing that Achilles Alpha pretty hard. I was playing around with the math for it, being basically anti-open topped *and* immune to melta/lances makes it a freakin' rock. The only thing I can think of to crack one in a reasonable amount of time are Meltabombs (did you guys know they are "armuorbane" not "melta?" Weird...) or Chainfists. Even then, it'll be an uphill battle. I restate, thank the corpse emperor they *can't* get flare shields. 

 

I can't stop thinking about loading a terror squad of 10 guys with volkites in there. On the one hand, my logical brain tells me "that's 550 points before any sort of additional upgrades." Then the other half of my brain retorts with "screw that noise, 28 volkite shots and a rapid fire grenade cannon. WEEE!"

Umm, depth. I feel the need to inform that Night Lords do not have a "the little voice". If we're lucky, we have just 58 "the little voices".

Just Jeff. Well, Jeff is Jeff. Then there's Jeffrey. And then John Joe Jefferson. And then Big Jeff. And - What's that? Oh yeah, almost forgot Jimmy McJeff. Thanks for reminding me Bob. And then there's Jeffus, the poor little guy who got smooshed by a Kharybdis. He's the little guy with the red boots you see poking out from underneath it in the FW pics.

 

And now we segue back into talking about the Kharybdis. I was thinking along Flint's thoughts of a shooty Terror squad. I mean, this thing seems perfect to land in the middle of some infantry, and a Terror squad with Volkites and a Rotary cannon would be perfect to kill anything that survived the heatblast, the frag launcher and the storm launchers. What do y'all think, viable option?

I'm wondering (haven't read the rules yet) if you could take the Blessed Autosimulacra on the Achilles Alpha - if so it would nigh impossible to crack...

Take it with Ferrus in the army! IWND! instead. Oh, and he pass Battlesmith on a 2+ (due to his special rule/having a Servo-arm) to let it regain Hull Points too. Nasty.

I've commited heresy brothers and sisters, I have grown tired awaiting models that should be out by now in a world that should be grim and dark. I have dug my tau out until I see sevatar

I'm wondering (haven't read the rules yet) if you could take the Blessed Autosimulacra on the Achilles Alpha - if so it would nigh impossible to crack...

Take it with Ferrus in the army! IWND! instead. Oh, and he pass Battlesmith on a 2+ (due to his special rule/having a Servo-arm) to let it regain Hull Points too. Nasty.

That seems... unfair...yet fluffy, I'll admit. What do you get when you cross a near invincible tank with a near invincible primarch?

That's the problem though... a land raider doesn't have rear armor. Well technically it does, but it's all the same. Plus meltaguns don't get the extra d6 at half range, which eliminates entirely the chance to get a penetrating hit (and add the +1 to the result roll.)

At best, besides meltabombs, your best hope is to haywire it to death. Even with a penetrating hit from an AP1 meltabomb or chainfist, it's super hard to get a good role on the result table from the -1 to the result.

I'm lost... so what mini's are we still to expect that we all know about ?

 

Obviously some of us want the MkIII command squad of course :)  Others, me included, want Mortarion to be announced soon, but I can wait a bit!

 

Any other pearls of wisdom here ?  I'm kinda lost in the rest of the talk...
