Hi Guys, first wanted to introduce myself here, im new to the Hobby however I knew about the WH world for a long time now, just never had the cash to start playing at a decent level. Started at the beggining of 6th with the Dark Vengeance set and now moved to full CSM army.

With not so many players at my place (only aproximate 20 of us active) I decided to be original, as there were already 3 other CSM armies each dedicated to the other gods I was left with the Prince of Pleasure.... and I love it!

I never painted minis before so my work may be a bit sloppy some time but I try my best.

The army currently conists of:

HQ

Deamon Prince

Chaos Lord in Terminator

DV Hellbrute

DV Chosen

Chaos Terminators

CSM

Cultists

Forgefiend

and a single lone Chaos Rhino smile.png

I already started my painting with a different colour scheme in mind so the Chosen and The Hellbrute as well as the Lord are already painted in a purple gold theme which I will either need to wash off or repaint on the current layer. I started to paint the Rhino with the same colour scheme and it looked awful, then i started digging and found the chapter that fit my idea of the Slaaneshy marines.

The repaint started with covering the purple on around 65% of the rhino including sides and back.

Here is the semi-finished product before weathering, I am still considering making it a bit more "chaotic" or Slaaneshy.

And an attempt at painting a single CSM, the banner is now changed to the deamonette banner

More pics coming soon, c&c welcomed and sorry for my bad english tongue.png
Not sure why the pics are so small sad.png

Agree with Ch@oZ. If you think this counts as 'maybe a little sloppy' and you haven't painted much, you're way ahead of the curve. The only tip I can offer from the looks of it is maybe paint with a little bit thinner layers, even if it means going over them two or three times to get a uniform color.

I'd suggest paint stripping vs painting over for the old figs. Get a good container that will fit the models that's chemical resistant and buy some Simple Green, Purple Power, or chemically similar concentrated cleaning product (shop/garage degreasers, etc). Let them soak undisturbed for minimum 24 hours, maximum several months. I've never had a model ruined by full power Simple Green or Purple Power. That said, test your solvent out on an extra bit or something you don't really care about first to be sure. To dispose of the cleaner when you're done, dilute it heavily...depending on how much you used, this could be quite a large volume. Once well diluted (10 to 1 or more) , it's typically as safe to pour down the drain as dirty mop water.

You'll want heavy duty cleaning gloves when you pull the models out of the solution as it is quite caustic to skin at full power. Get a cheap toothbrush and scrub a little. Paint should come right off with fairly little effort. Rinse the model thuroughly and you have an almost as good as new mini.

Not trying to hijack the thread with the long post. I just remember my first time where I could have stripped and repainted if only I knew how and thought I'd chip in. sweat.gif

Keep up the good work.

As currently I have to work 2 weeks of night shifts I had to skip painting this week, from good news I got my sonic weapons for the Noise Marines and my second Hellbrute is coming in a few days (this one will be conversion heavy :P)

For now I added the pics of my current painted minis. (still in the old colour scheme)

I need to rework this guy a bit, probably a head swap and will repain this arms white, also a white cloth will be added to match the new colours. Not sure if the cape will stay red.

My Hellbrute:

For this guy I wont need to doo much painting, Either I will add some white over the armour parts or will tatoo him over the "skinny" parts.

Dem Cultists:

And My Chosen, the very first I started to pain, I know they need a lot of rework if not repaint.

As soon as my night shifts are over and I get a bit of rest I will continue with painting the Marine Squad.

C&C Welcomed.
