Up, up, fair bride, and call Thy stars from out their several boxes, take Thy rubies, pearls, and diamonds forth, and make Thyself a constellation of them all; And by their blazing signify That a great princess falls, but doth not die. Be thou a new star, that to us portends Ends of much wonder; and be thou those ends.” John Donne For more pics, prose and poetry: http://loserstudio.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/fulgrim-phoenician-primarch-of-emperors.html
Cornelias
smashing paint job but i'm not to keen on the mini, looks a bit "light on his loafers" if you know what i mean ;)
reckoning
The models a peculiar choice but the painting looks awesome IMO. The freehand is top notch.
lilloser
Cheers guys I've noted in my design notes (found on my blogsite) that I imagined Fulgrim to be slender of frame because he is not one of the mass produced specimens that the Astrates are. In comparison (even to his brother primarchs) Fulgrim makes other warriors look quite gaudy and unrefined. He is a fencer not a butcher. An artist, not a ham fisted killer. He's an unusual Primarch; of course I was going to create an unusual model. I had no interest in creating another he-man in power armour. Hope this helps. lost_angel
Love your interpretation. Most of the Fulgrim's I've seen have him depicted as borderline Eldar in purple. Hat's off for putting an original perspective on him!
Firepower
The paint work is superb. The model itself...I'm not sure I like the Djinn-ish feel of his outfit. It's not a bad sculpt, it's just not what comes to mind when I think of Fulgrim.
Captain Semper
Like the rest, I think you have done an excellent paint job! :tu: The miniature is indeed a peculiar choice. I don't mind the "Djinn" look (adds a bit of decadence), but I have some reservations on the pose... too static. Suffice to say the work on the cape is stunning! EOL
Pain job is really nict indeed, but the miniature are not looking like a prmarch of space marines, to fantasy for me.
lilloser
Cheers for the feedback guys. I appreciated that this wouldn't be to everyone's taste. Taking on a primarch is always controversial as they evoke such strong passions (as well as responses) from people. Lilloser
Octavulg
I quite like it except for the pantaloons. It makes him feel unarmored, which does seem a bit unwise on a 40K battlefield. As Fulgrim's after-hours uniform, however, I love it.
