Heretical
Ok so i know all Astartes infantry take oaths of moment before entering battle, but who else does? Dreadnoughts? Tanks? Artillery, bikes etc etc anyone know? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274650-oaths-of-moment/ Share on other sites
Aegnor
Dreadnoughts might as they are sentient. Machine spirits in machines have a number of rites enacted over them by the techpriests which in some ways could be analogous to the symbolism of the oath of moment. Kol Saresk
Pretty much anything involving Astartes would take an Oath of Moment. It's a pledge that they will strive to win after all. Even a World Eater Fellblade driver will be in the thick of it. Raven Angel
I remember something from First Heretic where the Combat Robots that the Word Bearers had "adopted" had to be oathed in some way before a battle. MordentHex
Depends on the Legion, I can't for the life of me see a Night Lord taking an Oath of anything. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274650-oaths-of-moment/#findComment-3359462 Share on other sites
Kol Saresk
I could. Â "I vow that I will kill my commander in a murder-duel and claim leadership of this rabble and lead them to even greater glory as my name is uttered from the lips of all who watch me!" Â Okay, maybe that's a little grandiose, but it gets the idea across. Lord Heremes
And yet that is exactly the kind of thing a night lord would say. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274650-oaths-of-moment/#findComment-3359583 Share on other sites

Wade Garrett
I'm pretty sure Talos and Mercutian are mentioned as still pinning oath scrolls to their armor in Blood Reaver, although it does state that Xarl and Cyrion find the idea amusingly quaint and Uzuas considers it BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! BLOOD FOR THE THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! GhostMalone
You missed Souls for the Soul Eater. Even post heresy some of the traitors still adhere to it, but it's more pledging chaotic texts and all that stuff for the chaos gods Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274650-oaths-of-moment/#findComment-3373211 Share on other sites
