  1. From the album: Dark Angels Homebrew Chapters

"The measure of true glory is not to give battle in the bright noon of war, surrounded by brave comrades upon the field of victory, but to valiantly fight on alone in the darkness, with no hope of aid or even remembrance, and to spit defiance in midnight's eye." — Lion El'Jonson, Reflections on the Mirror of War, Vol III The Uncrowned Princes are a recently-founded Successor Chapter of the Dark Angels that was created during the recent Ultima Founding during the 42nd Millennium and is comprised entirely of Primaris Space Marines. Styled after the old Dark Angels Legion that existed during the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy, the Uncrowned Princes, as they have been known as, have also inherited the old tenets of the Lion during their creation. Due to this, they are noted to have made many major tactical and organizational deviations from the Codex Astartes, as they use a modified version of the Hexagrammaton, which was how the old Dark Angels Legion was organized. Hailing from the forested death world of Blackhaven, which is virtually identical in both climate and culture to Caliban, the destroyed death world that served as the homeworld of the Dark Angels, their parent chapter. The Uncrowned Princes have been forged into Astartes due to their experience of hunting down the large monsters of their homeworld as they seek to take on the biggest foes they can find, whether in sheer size or sheer numbers. During their founding, the Uncrowned Princes were given a significant portion of the old First Legion's arsenal to use in battle. Read More: Uncrowned Princes

  10. From the album: Dark Angels Homebrew Chapters

Calm outside of battle, the Invokers take great relish in learning and investigating the mysteries of the Galaxy. Their Fortress Monastery Holds a Library of great size with many sections dedicated to the destruction of Daemons and the use of unicursal hexegrammic wards. All Invokers upon completing their scout training have the Ordo Malleus' Liber Exorcismus committed to memory and a basic mastery of unicursal hexagrammic wards. Monastic and fanatical in their belief in the Emperor, they believe that they are all lost to the Emperors light, and that it is only once Chaos is banished that the souls of their fallen brothers will be redeemed and returned to the Emperor. They maintain strict discipline and since the fall the use of Chaplains and tests of purity have been multiplied tenfold, refusing to let their exposure to the warp and their alliances with certain daemonic elements to cloud their purpose. To fight chaos with chaos, to sacrifice their very souls, to free the Imperium of the taint of chaos.

  12. Hi all, Started this guy a couple of months back, got busy, left him half finished. Came back today and cleaned him up - the eyes are bad, the painting is pretty rushed, and I could have cleaned more mold lines, but at least he's done and I'd say "Tabletop Ready". I originally started him as part of my "Crimson Castellan" chapter revamp, however due to there already being a novel fleshing them out that overrides what I'd already done (before I found out it was a thing), I'll likely be just changing it to a new chapter that wears red. Honestly I could just say it's a "Loyalist Thousand Sons Sorcerer"... but that would be Heresy! Bits (sorry if I don't remember them all): - Dark Angels Hooded Head - Deathwatch Cloaked Back - Tzeench Sorcerer Chest / Arms / Wood-Effect Shoulder - Severin Loth Skull/Scroll Shoulder - Mechanicus Glaive-Head (replaced Sorcerer Staff Head) - Sternguard Veteran Legs - Old Metal Ultramarine Base (I think it was Calgar's?) - Backpack Sternguard Veteran (or some Chaplain/Sargeant/Important Marine) He's a Librarian of his chapter who guards their Librarium; and like the other Librarians of his chapter he doesn't fully wear his armor blue. Would need to make a lore reason for this, but mainly because I'd started painting it red before I remembered Librarians were mostly blue! So here he is (Apologies for my bad camera): ~Sanctum Guardian Tacitus~ Cheers, Jupiter
  13. Greetings B&C, I developed a custom Chapter over the last few months with the help of the B&C community. I now wish to actually paint up an army. This is a project I've been wanted to get started for a few months, and I'd like to show you guys as I work through this project from start to finish. You guys can check them out here http://c-mcbride.blogspot.com/2017/05/sons-of-void-final.html https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7QwYlsBz-qyY3JfNk53cDJwZzVKQ2NoU0h4cndSa2xnV0Zv
  14. Greetings all, So decided to try and do a plog here. Of all my hobbies 40K has the biggest and longest hold on my interest. Been playing since '97 and sunk almost as much money as the value of my house into it. With the Konor Campaign getting me back into the painting mood in a large way I'd like to keep a little of this momentum and see about completing the herculean task of painting all my models to table standard. Course this won't happen, as in time new projects will be added and going back to add detail, but to get close would be a feat. Since my collection extents to most armies I figured it would be best to place the thread here since I want to have the project centralized. I'm going to also try and get back into writing. It's been a long time since I spun a yarn and like to get creative on all fronts. If I can keep this up I'm hoping to update this thread on at least a weekly bases with WIP, completed projects, fiction and maybe some battle reports. I'll also try and keep a general list of what I plan to work on in the next three months. Quarterly Project List: Finish primaris force to table standard or better Work on vow for Xenos event. Complete at least one more IG tank As a start I'm going to do a few posts of the work done for the Konor campaign as well as group pictures of the forces I used fighting the forces of Chaos. First up is the Imperial force used during week four and my first time using Primaris Marines. Week 4 (100 PL force) Captain Phelian (Ultramarines) Librarian Marcelo Tito (Crimson Fists) Brother Kleopas (Ultramarines Redepemtor Dread) Squad Xandros (Ultramarines, Incessors squad) Squad Rhouben (Ultramarines, Incessors squad) Squad Stelios (Blood Ravens, Tactical squad) Squad Ormr (Mantis Warriors, Helbalster squad) Thunderbolt Baneblade I'll post up more as I get the space marine units named.
