Bouargh
Today in the hobby I resumed hobbying after moving. I have lost my hobby space and am reduced to using the dining room table when available. But my wife decided to feed my addiction with a painting and hobbying tray. TheArtilleryman
… received my artillery crew from Battleprints. I think they look awesome. TheArtilleryman
… I also started putting together the Battle Systems Gothic Cityscape with my son, that we got him as a birthday present. First time I’ve bought any of their stuff and it’s surprisingly good for all card scenery. It’s modular and can be built in a bunch of combinations, and all the windows can be popped out to shoot through. This is about 2/3 of the stuff in the box. There’s a bunch more walls and a whole load of barricades and scatter bits like crates etc. left. The mat is Combat Patrol size. Pretty neat I thought and good for small kitchen table games and for Kill Team. Moonstalker
Yesterday in the hobby I got together with some friends for a hobby day. They mostly put together models while I got going on painting. I'm focusing on trying to get my army for boarding actions finished up to a battle ready standard, for a game we're going to have in May when another old friend comes to visit. If I have any extra time I'll try and get some paint on the boarding action terrain, too. Magos Takatus
Today in the hobby I managed to freehand the tribal symbols on two units of Kroot Carnivores, a Krootox and my Rampagers. That is obscenely productive for me. I'm getting so close to the end of this project I can almost taste it. Magos Takatus
Another TiTHI entry, today I finished the quills for my Kroot, redefined them using panel liner and added dried blood effect to the weapons and skinning knives. Just the bases and varnishing left to go. I'm excited to be so close to the end of this phase of the project. Karhedron
TITH I took my new squad of Intercessors outside to prime only to find my rattle can was empty. Magos Takatus
TiTHI finally finished the first phase of my Kroot project. Rather than spamming this thread with one million pictures I will instead link to my thread in the Tau forum for anyone that's curious. sbarnby71
(yester) today in the hobby - nah that sounded better in my head! I put together 2 thunder wolf proxies. And the day before that I did this pack leader thunder wolf proxy (I know I'm cheating here!). Viridia
YITHI visited the B&C for the first time in three years (did not realise it had been that long!). TITHI assembled a veteran sergeant using one of the Tortuga Bay Mk6 bodies I ordered before the invasion, as I've struggled with finding an idea worthy of them. Their size makes them pleasantly easy to customise in a way that really fits the Astartes aesthetic imo. Ace Debonair
I'm back, and I brought some friends. A mixed bag of slightly Dragonball-inspired Eldar Guardian Defender / Storm Guardian NPOs for Kill Team, leaving me with just the Farseer, Six Jetbikes, Wraithlord, Swooping Hawks, Fire Dragons and ten Striking Scorpions left to paint before my eldar are completely finished. Alright maybe I bought a few too many things there, but at least most of them were cheap with the magazines and stuff. BitsHammer
I've been working on Emperor's Children recently. The scheme is very pink with freehand planned for every mini, which means they'll be taking a while to fully paint but I think it'll result in something properly over the top for the faction. skylerboodie, Mithrilforge and The Yncarne 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274679-today-in-the-hobby-i/page/445/#findComment-6101764 Share on other sites

The tanks came from a guy on eBay who was experimenting with his printer and selling the first few prints cheap. The crew are from Battleprints, they have a website and an eBay shop. N1SB
Today in the Hobby I was playing DC Universe Online, then realised I was still playing Warhammer: Brother Henry Caville was the Man of Steel, so I can talk about playing a DC-related game. In this DC game, you create your own hideout, one of mine is the bridge of some spaceship. I was trying to create this war room with this battle display table, it's supposed to be holographic, but I just clip together different things like this sculpture of floating spheres with the table to make like some sort of planetary map. It's a MMORPG, I'm roleplaying. I just found this floating Thanagar ship (that's the planet Hawkwoman's from), so I added it over the table. Then I realised I got a table, I got terrain, I got a giant Flyer miniature...wait, I'm just playing Warhammer again. BitsHammer
Well that's one down (minus the basing) still a bunch to go. And yes, my plan is to put some kind of obnoxious fur print pattern on every single model. Though if I do another Moot Green based zebra stripe scheme I'm going bright blue stripes next time. Norman Paperman
This weekend in the hobby I bought the basing materials I need for my Tzaangor project. Had to order some muddy terrain from Amazon, but got the colour of tufts I wanted from a local. While I'm waiting, I've put the finishing touches on two projects from another setting which has been a nice little palette cleanser. On one of the dudes I freehanded some abs and I think they look cool as heck. Really enjoyed this bird boy project. They were awesome models to build, felt like there were hardly any mold lines to deal with, and then they took paint like a dream. I have a new airbrush which really let me bang out my base coats in no time, and then a bit of layering and key details and they were done. Total time for painting and basing was just under 15 hours. I kept track of my progress in a WIP thread (link). Warning, writing long-winded posts is my real passion The Yncarne, Focslain, TheArtilleryman and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274679-today-in-the-hobby-i/page/445/#findComment-6103247 Share on other sites
MadGamerAK
TTITH, I and a little bit of last night, but it was closer to midnight, I swear.
