BitsHammer Posted June 19 Share Posted June 19 Took me a few test minis to decide how to get a shade of blue I really liked but I think I finally got a Night Lords scheme I can be happy with and replicate consistently. And yes, it is a regular Terminator using a Contekar kit mixed with Tartaros arms. I originally built a squad of 5 back before the CSM book dropped but never finished them because I wasn't really impressed with the Night Lord style detachment and I am waiting for plastic Heresy bikes before I commit to a Chaos biker army. lhg033 Posted June 23 Share Posted June 23 recently in the hobby.... I've been building my Aquilons for kill team and did the minor conversion/arm swap to have both 'special' weapons. This prompted a bit of a conversions bug that I havent had in years and I picked up a second copy of the warboss combat patrol issue and over the weekend I have been tinkering with that and the meganobz sprues from Prophecy of the Wolf from my pile of shame to see if I can convert a mek in mega armour. I even broke the greenstuff out for a few bits. lhg033 Posted June 24 Share Posted June 24 So last night in the hobby, I demolded the press-molds (mould or mold... neither look right, both are right depending on where you are from.... not enough sleep! ) I made for the mek in mega armour arms, mainly I just want he elbow to write part.... ...and I found I'd mis orientated one of them entirely, like 180 degrees for each side. its a real shame as they had the detail perfectly! the other arm came out well. and I set up a new casting for the one that didnt work. The base consists of the main base and a pillar, which has an acrylic rod inserted into it. I will then drill a hole into the model and insert the rod inside. The magnets are solely because my storage and transport cases have magnetic sheets so they keep the models secure in transit. I'm a bit fed up with brittle, flimsy flying bases, particularly on the Falcon chassis tanks so I simply made my own. The design is a little rough because I am completely inexperienced in Blender but I'm hoping to refine the design over time. Victrix Guard will be used with the two extra I have right now as a Bladeguard squad, while the others give me the last Ultra named character (don't need Sicarius) and two Tacticus captains (going to convert the Company Hero Ancient to a Captain as I already have an Ancient and I don't have any "regular" Primaris Captains, only Termie/Gravis/Phobos). Should be a decent group along with Bobby G to vow for the Call to Arms. sbarnby71 Posted 9 hours ago Share Posted 9 hours ago TiTH: SW Head-Taker. Removed the knife and added a belt from the old SW kit. Added some extra rune stones. Primal Hounds chest decorations and removed the small wolf skull from the chest plate. Halberd from the AOS Chaos Warriors. Severed heads from the AOS Chaos Warriors (he is a Head-Taker!). Used the cape and back from a AOS Chaos Warrior and added some rough fur. The shield on the cape had 9 pointed star of Chaos, so removed that. Added a Daemon skull with a ball-bearing and some picture frame wire to show it being bolted in place. Helmet is a Hersey Era 3d print I got ages ago (will need to adjust the neck).
