YITHI unearthed a box of Ork Boyz from 2012, still in the wrapper. I really want to try and follow VeteranSergeant's guide on how to convert Orks to make them taller, but at the time I don't want to take them out of the box. Maybe it's nostalgia? :D

I printed out the HH 2.0 pdf files for Daemons of the Ruinstorm, Militia, SA and Mechanicum. Then they underwent the bookbinding procedure. So no more clumsily looking around in pdf files for me while gaming. I avoided printing out the SM pdf file because I would have only needed the Indomitus Terminators and Whirlwind entries so a total of 100 extra pages would have been a waste.

Today in the hobby . I finished up putting together the fellgore ravagers . which makes it 24 Beastmen I now have. And put together 4 of the Inq .agents . Still have a squad of terminators, aggressors , genestealers , jump pack Marines to go . Oh and the boarding actions set yet to put together.  All together I still have about another 150 other figs to under coat if not more

TWITHI have been trying to be a bit more productive when it comes to actually hobbying. Built a Sword Brethren to lead one unit, two initiates and one assault marine. plus five neophytes for the classic Black Templars army I've been planning on for a while.

Also converted the space wolf miniature of the month to a more Celtic-themed appearance so as to get some use out of the broken lieutenant's arm from the 8th edition starter set, in addition to finally starting to assemble the AoD axe praetor as I want to paint him as a White Scar.

Currently working on my Arbitrators squad after completing some of my Spyrers as I'm hoping to get a relative into Necromunda.

Alright, I know: Pics or it didn't happen... But I just finished the Mandrakes I pledged for Call to Arms and put in a bit of work on the Wracks as well.

Additionally, I started writing the post that will launch my Drukhari Crusade- I've named all ten members of the Kabalites and come up with backstories for them. I'm about to do the same for all the Wyches and Mandrakes, and then it'll be ready to post. I only have two vacation days remaining, and while I'm happy to have the Mandrakes done, the Wracks should be done by now too... And possibly even the Haemonculus.

I had hoped to get far enough to do a solo arena battle I've been planning forever... But I've got a League Game is next week, and I want my Space Lane Raiders 100% painted. I've got the Archon, Kabalites, Wyches and Mandrakes... But I need the Wracks, Haemonculuc and something to use as the Succubus, until I can fight that Arena battle and figure out who my Succubus is actually going to be.

It has been a very busy hobby month, and it doesn't show any signs of slowing down, though time will be at a higher premium once the vacation ends.

TiTHI can blame my lack of painting productivity on something other than a heatwave and lack of motivation. Two days ago I had to be taken into hospital and I discovered I have a kidney stone. Lovely. Thankfully I'm not in pain now and once I've got the kitchen cleared for some work to be done in there I can get back to being horribly behind on my Call to Arms thingy.

TITH I sorted my pile of space marine unhelmeted heads. First by type : with a respirator or without. And then by hair type : bald, mohawk or full head of hair.

I stashed all the duplicates in a ziplock bag and went through the remaining unique heads and compared them to the ones I've already used in my army, and discarded a few that were used on some previous models.

Now i'm left with 2 coffee stirrers with blutacked heads that I'm sure I can use for future minis and not have two marines have identical faces.

Tedious, but totally worth it in the long run

I played another Boarding Action game with my Drukhari Space Lane Raiders, this time versus Deathwatch... And we won! It was a nailbiter of a game, but in my last turn I was able to seize control of a primary objective, claim an additional minor and drop his warlord... But right up until that moment, the game could have gone either way- the additional minor objective, for example, was claimed by a single surviving Kabalite who very easily might not have survived; one extra save could have kept the warlord on his feet.

My army was STILL not 100% painted, but it was MUCH closer than last time- only the Wracks and Haemonculus were unfinished, and the Wracks are close, but the Haemonculus needs a bit more work that them. They should all be done by September 1st in plenty of time to successfully complete my Call to Arms pledge.

The highlight of the game:

The ten painted Wyches I bring to the battle AREN'T actually a single Wych unit- they are two teams of five who are meant to compete in the Arena to become full units, and figure out which among them will become a Succubus. So I can't field an ACTUAL Succubus until that Arena fight. Now one of these teams is sponsored by the Archon, and the other is sponsored by a Lhamaean. So since I haven't figured out who the Succubus will be, I didn't have a Succubus model, so I proxied in the Lhamaean. She is both my favourite model in the range AND the best paint job I've ever done. Rather than just saying "This is my proxied Succubus," I came up with the narrative hook that she was hopped up on extreme cocktail of combat drugs that allowed her to perform like a Wych for a limited time.

It's the first time I've used the fully painted model in a game... And she's the one who killed the Warlord.

All hail Skythia Xesh!

Note: In addition to being an AMAZING opponent, the army I fought against was fully painted and BEAUTIFUL. We spent the first 5-10 minutes just showing off the models and sharing bits of our personal narrative- the bits he added to his models dovetailed with their former Chapter affiliations, and once I start painting my own Deathwatch, I'll be using the same idea on my own marines... Though my Marine bit box will be much, much smaller than his.

What a great day!

Today in the hobby I continued to work on my UM Third Company.    I gathered parts for two more tactical squads.  chest, legs, heads and 25mm bases.   I plan on doing the full Third company.   So far Command squad 95% complete, three Tactical squads 90% complete.  Need to do some details and add some accessories to each sm.   The two devastor squads are 90% complete as I have some accessories to add to figures and touch up painting.    Some day I will figure out how to post photos.   At my age learning new things is getting tough.   Once all the figures are done I will do the bases.
