Last night I started the base coat on some of the trim and bronze details on the Armiger. Probably around 50% through but stopped due to tiredness and hands starting to wobble. Slow and steady wins the race and all that!

So last night built a bio/pyrovore for the nid force I'm taking to a tourny next month. The points drop gave me enough room to add a third pyrovore.

With this being from the new CP I wanted to have it swapable to the CP's biovore. So magging the contact point so I can swap the top gun.

TITHI finally built one of the Crusade-armour marines from the Saturnine release because I want to do a Shattered Legions force of Raven Guard and White Scars using Tortuga and current up-scaled plastics respectively, to contrast with my true-scale converted SoH and Word Bearers.

TITHI committed a crime against nature and kitbashed this...thing.

As an explanation for this atrocity, I was chuckling to myself over the meme of painting the bizarrely sensual looking Neurolictor to look like it's wearing stockings and elbow gloves and thought "I should do something like that for a laugh". Unfortunately I don't have a Neurolictor and couldn't be bothered printing that one (those who know will know) so I rummaged through my bitz box and made this affront to the natural order. Still needs some sculpting work but for what it is I'm quite impressed I managed to make it out of assorted crap. For what it's worth, not a single part of this was purchased or printed for this model- it was entirely off-the-cuff scrounging. Also it's 100% a display model, as aside from anything else she's a bit unstable (might upsize the base a bit)- I normally don't care for enormous base elements like this but as it's not being used as a gaming piece, I can excuse my own hypocrisy.

For those interested in replicating this, uh, delightful model, the recipe consists of the following components (and probably a few I've forgotten):

>Pyrovore flamespurt (nozzle cut off)

>Biovore carapace

>OOP metal Venomthrope feeder tendrils

>Carnifex head (cut down significantly)

>Venom cannon feeder tube

>Venomthrope head

>Psychophage tongue

>Tyranid Warrior chest (I used the Prime version specifically)

>Tyranid Prime adrenal glands

>Tyranid Warrior scything talons (talons themselves removed at the wrist)
>Plague Drone limbs (balljoints cut off and boils lanced shaved away)

>Last-gen (4th edition) plastic Genestealer lower arms (the smaller ones with daintier fingers, one hand cut and reposed)

>Last-gen (5th edition) Ravener tail (I suspect this will be the trickiest component to source once they're discontinued in favour of the KT set)

>Dustback Helamite back legs (inorganic elements shaved off and base connector platform cut down)

>Parts from bootleg NECA Alien toys off Aliexpress (I believe the smaller part is a Scorpion Alien's back spine and the larger part is the Snake Alien's head; these are dirt cheap from Aliexpress or Chinese eBay sellers, and whilst absolutely terrible toys make for very good sources of gribbly parts!)

>40mm base

Now if you'll excuse me I have an appointment with the Ordo Xenos. Something about "what are you smoking and where can we get some".

Quite the Geiger-ish nightmare.

Oh, trust me, we're only asking that so we can find the rest of your xenophile confederates and 'smoke' them all out...

I pledged a model in my store's Beast Feast event.  So I have to finish painting the model (which has to be a monster that can be used in AoS) by October 17th, is the Friday after Canadian Thanksgiving.

This is a 2nd ed Keeper of Secrets, and while it's a legal AoS entry, I will be using this model to represent the Shasalyth, a principle antagonist in the Commorragh side of a Drukhari Crusade. It's too late to post anything else right now, but I've got the photos of all the units that make up my Space Lane Raiders combat patrol- I just need to do a second draft of the background. Hope to post the debut of that Crusade tomorrow. Many of the units have already been posted in other threads- the Kabalites were a 12 month challenge that I had started more than two years earlier, the Wyches and the Archon are in my Progress Log and the Haemonculus, Wracks, Court of the Archon and Mandrakes were my 2025 Call to Arms pledge.

But the Crusade Launch would be the first place that all of that stuff was brought together. I've played two games with some of these units already, so there is established progress in the narrative. These won't be full battle reports- they were fought before the units were fully painted- but I'll be posting the broad strokes of what happened in those games and sharing the results of Crusade Progression.

Opponents have been paired for the next game, but we haven't arranged a time to play yet. The next game will be really exciting- most of my units have earned enough XP that they're almost guaranteed to earn their first battle honours!

Both of the fights so far have been Boarding Action games set in realspace. The first planned fight in Commorragh is a three round Wych Cult Arena battle with HUGE consequences for how two competing Wych Cults will grow. But the Shasalyth here will give me something else to fight in Commorragh once the arena fight ends.

Today I worked on a Space Marine I'm going to enter into a local store's competition. Overall somewhat happy...happy enough to add the decals tomorrow and then I'm going to try some battle damage that I saw in a few youtube video's.

And now me and my kid are going to play some kill team!
