It's not luck, it's ZEAL!

Today in the hobby I received the first White Dwarf of my new subscription.

I can't say the Army of the Month made me think highly of Space Wolves and Simon Grant... but I can't say this was surprising either since I loathe Space Wolves. :tongue.:

Greetings

Yesterday: destroyed chaos goons with combined craftworld/dark eldar. Chop, chop, chop, die, die, die! Although one berzerker sergeant put up a heroic resistance to Fuegan with some epic FNPs.

Today: nearly finished the classic metal terminator chaplain (the one with the scrolls that they released a poor knock-off of in plastic recently).

Tith I glued a marine to a 32 mm base for the first time... I feel dirty.

Lol. Well I decided for now to put sword brethren and other officers onto 32mm and leave the rest on 25 for the time being...

Incidentally it was the 1st resin base I've ever used too...

Today in the hobby, I didn't do much, but I redid my little display area of my tiny little room while cleaning, putting up some posters I've wanted to put up for absolute ages.

Most obvious are the WHFB End Times posters, obviously. I'm not really a Fantasy fan much, never played it, and don't care terribly much for Age of Sigmar, but the cover images from those books are just so lovely, I couldn't resist. The little painting is one of Mt Rainier here in Washington, picked it up for a few bucks at an auction held at my church. Up near the top (and sadly partly cut off in this picture) is my absolute favorite piece of 40k art: the Imperial Palace, this one. Just the majesty and grandeur of it all... I love that piece. Then, of course, there's my display case (and in the reflection, me. :tongue.:) It's a little china cabinet I picked up for $50 at my church's annual rummage sale. I just saw it, and I knew I had to have it for my 40k stuff. It's not huge, but then again, my minis aren't either. On top, I've got an eclectic little jumble of paraphernalia that I find interesting, some of which is personally significant: a little porcelain rabbit, a kangaroo figurine, a LEGO Space Needle, a FW Praetor Tribune in its packaging, the packaging for Captain Centos, the Imperial Space Marine, and the new Kh

YITH I lost my first 1850 point game.

Despite one of my rhinos and my razorback immobilising themselves on terrain in the first turn and my 10 man assault squad with chaplain refusing to deep strike on their debut... (holds head in hands) it was a really good game. Dark Eldar and Skitarii alliance game me a challenge ending the game 7 - 6 in their favour. Assault terminators kept me in the game for the most part mashing up 3 enemy units before even taking a wound.

LNITH - Well technicaly today - 2am can't sleep etc.     I read through 6 pages on this forum on why the AP system needs fixin'.   Then realized I haven't played 40k in 2 years really why am I reading this?    Turned off my tablet and picked up the Sept. WD and re read the painting sections in the back and listened to the end part of Fallen Angels audio-book.   Realized that the Audio book ends differently than the novel.  Like it's missing the last chapter - which actually makes the ending a little cooler than the 'intervention' with Luther part.

Tith I painted an iron warrior. ..... carcass on the base of my imperial fist terminator librarian!

I hope his appearance doesn't offend any strict scheme frater, I'm not 100% sure how to paint their scheme, and it's on a base covered in muck so I'm not going all out...

Today in the hobby, I finally got some pictures posted up of my yet-unpainted WB Cataphractii Terminators. I also received my 10 Telerac Pattern Culverins, and since I can't finish up my remaining five Terminators right yet I think I may start on a heavy support squad later today.

YITH I dropped a full pot of Nuln Oil... A large pot... On my models... It wasn't a good day.

That's not how you finish painting your marines? ;)

In all seriousness though, sorry to hear that, were they (partially) painted or is it the loss of the Oil that hurts more?
