Hey guys, it's that time of year again when I begin to plan and paint my Armies on Parade project. 

 

This year I'll be painting the Sons of Sanguinius. 

I've already acquired most of the models for the army.

So by June 29 I have to have the following completed:

1 Chaplain

1 Techmarine

10 Death Company Marines

10 Assault Marines

20 Tactical Marines

2 Rhinos

1 Baal Predator

2 Contemptor Dreadnoughts 

 

I'll also have to complete a 2'x2' board which will be city themed. 

 

I've spent the last few nights assembling the first 5 Death Company marines and the Techmarine. I began painting the first Death Company model as well.

My plan is to go for a high tabletop quality piece and I think this is it. Hopefully I'll be able to paint it.

I've just begun painting his Bolt Pistol, so I'll finish that in the morning as well as his eye lens and the two skulls on his knees. I'll base the entire army once the board is completed and the army is painted.

 

C&C welcomed and appreciated! I'm open to input on the project.

Haha sorry for the delays guys. Been busy with work the last few days. Anyway here are the finished pictures of the Death Company model. Not sure if I'll give him a little blood on the fist or not, now I just need his Jump pack! 

I also started the Techmarine for the army.





 

I also found this really cool stamp at Michaels lol.

Cheers mate! Got a little work done on the army today. The first tactical squad is not built just needs to be based and primed! 

 

and just to show proof that I've been productive. ;)
First 10 Marines just need to be based and a few details added then they're set to go.
 
And two of my personal favorites.
 
Now to lay down the tile and the milliput on the base and prime them!

I am loving the red on that techmarine. Care to give your recipe?

I don't remember my exact recipes but it's just playing around with a few colours.

Mephiston Red

Khorne Red

Evil Sunz Scarlet

Wazdakka Red

Wild Rider Red

Vermin Brown

Bloodletter glaze

Drakenhof Nightshade

Carroburg Crimson

Nuln Oil

 

The washes are all used as shades and blending, the glaze it barely used I'm not sure I'd keep it in the recipe with the rest of the army. 

 

 

You've got a really nice black going on there, what are you using?

 

Looking forward to seeing some more of these guys.

 

The black is done with Abbaddon Black Shadow Grey Codex Grey and Fortress Grey with a light was of Nuln Oil to tie the blends. 

I'm not sure what the new paints from GW would be for the recipe it's something I'm working on figuring out though so as soon as I know I'll share! :D

 

And I was a little productive this afternoon after doing other stuff. I got the second tactical squad assembled. Now I just need to make some bases, but I think I'll do the third squad first.

All of the tanks are going to be stripped down and repainted.

Your marines are looking fantastic as usual MCA.  The black on the Death Company marine is flawless and the stubble on his head is a nice touch.  I really like the red armor on the Techmarine, it has some real depth to it.  I would consider keeping that red across the whole army, I think that it looks much better than the usual orange-red that many Blood Angels armies seem to be painted.  I can't wait to see how you paint the Sangiunary Guard and Priests for this army.  Are you planning on mixing in any FW infantry bits into your squads to reflect the artisanship of the Emperor's Angels?

Anyway thanks for the compliments my friend. I'd definitely consider mixing some in, but I was thinking more in the command squad and Sanguinary Guard units.

I do still plan to work on my Horus Heresy army at some point as well, especially since in the next week or so I should have my Fulgrim model and I've stock piled some of the components you've sent to the side solely for those projects! msn-wink.gif

As another update, the third tactical squad is now assembled just awaiting some purity seals and heavy weapons.
