Gydeon
So I'm going to state this outright, despite the awesome camera.. I'm still getting used to being a Photographer. Thus, I'm sorry for either the poor angle of the shot, or the quality if it comes out grainy. Hopefully by the end of this challenge my skills with the camera become better so I can capture the paint scheme and detail work upon the miniature in it's entirety. Without further ado, I'm going to follow this blurb up with a repost of my first vow and a few snap shots I took a few moments ago. I, Gydeon, answer the call of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete Thirty marines from the Death Company from Codex: Blood Angels of total value 1710pts on or before August 15th. Success will bring eternal glory to the Blood Angels Chapter and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of Shame until the year-end! http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad190/AthromSunstrider/ETL%20II%20WIP%20Vow/033_zps0d285c19.jpg http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad190/AthromSunstrider/ETL%20II%20WIP%20Vow/032_zps2f90f987.jpg http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad190/AthromSunstrider/ETL%20II%20WIP%20Vow/029_zps3612488f.jpg Over the next two days I'll be priming the majority of the unit and seeing how far I can get wil a clean basecoat. It will be interesting to see if I can finish the unit with my hectic work schedule, but i needed that extra push to get my army done and painted before falling from the Emperor's light and working on my Thousand Sons. Anyways, I'll keep you guys updated as I go along and let's show the other factions what the Sons of Sanguinius are made of!
JeffJedi
That's one expensive squad. Lots of weapons in there!
Gydeon
Yeah, I guess you can say I'm prepared for the supposed drop of the 6th edition Apocalypse this summer. Anyways this update doesn't have a trio of photos to accompany it as all I've done is undercoat the models with Imperial Primer. (It's been raining like crazy this long weekend.) I'll post up some picitures tomorrow after I've given each of the members in this unit a bit of basecoat love. While Black is the new black, you've gotta have some colour to show off! However, I've got one thing to ask of you guys. In the rulebook they showcase an Baal pattern Boltgun, white (I'm going to assume some sort of Ivory) grips and much of the weapon is a gold/brass. Now what I've been wanting to ask, is should I paint the majority of the bolt pistols in this unit to mach that of the example (I don't think it would take away from the model, but they will stand out in contrast to the black and red armour.) or go with the standard freshly oiled look? TheHarrower
Welcome to the forums brother. What you have there is a thing of beauty. Can't wait to see them painted.
Gydeon
Well... while they may not be the most pretty things this side of the border, I think I did a pretty good job for surviving a natural disaster and working late nights. I lost my fancy camera so I'm sorry for the grainy phone picture, but that's all thirty of them! Vow completed just in the nick of time. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad190/AthromSunstrider/20130814_213646_zps6289fc29.jpg http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad190/AthromSunstrider/20130814_213704_zps4e9e5f26.jpg
