To star. Here is a copy of the vow.

I Uberwolve answer the call of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete [1 bastion,1 Chimera  1 squad of Vets, with Sgt Bastonne 4 commissar  1 trooper Marbo, 6 bombard colossus  and 6 ogryan, Nork Deddog and Iron hand strsken 1 deathstrike  and 5 priest. from Codex Imperial Guard and Imperial Armour 1 version 2 and The Rule book. with a total value 2185.  on or before August 15th. Success will bring eternal glory to The Imperial Guard! and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of Shame until the year-end

Bastion = 75

Vet squad with Bastonne,carapace,vox and 2 flamers = 175

Chimera = 55

6 Ogryn 130+120 =250

Nork Deddog 110

Col. Straken = 95

Trooper Marbo = 65

Priest 4

Priest 1 with eviscerater  = 190

Deathstrike Launcher = 160

commissar with power weapon. = 45

2 commissar standard equipment. = 70

Bombard Colossus Battery of 3 140X3 = 420

Bombard Colossus Battery of 3 140X3 = 420

Some of these units will be repainted for this vow some were started prior to this vow but unfinished.

If any of these units are unacceptable They will be removed.

Now then. First I will post pic's of every thin as it is today, for review and inspection.

Once the final determination of printable models has been established the points can be reset to the correct value. Then Work will begin!

This is all just a reason for mew to get back to working on my Guard.  I think the few started models would be ok, but the 43 squads of Steel Legionnaire, may be too much to get done and too far along for this challenge. All of the above list are more or less just units I want to get done or have yet to mess with for the most part. well aside from assembling and basing.

well I'm off to get those pic's!

edit..Math was off..sorry

Back again! I have gotten quite a bit done to day!

My Trooper Marbo has gone from here

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tQo_I0UVnHs/UbDLpUqsK3I/AAAAAAAABAc/Ty0T6tPtFfc/s320/204_1038.JPG Marbo meet Marbo.. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BIGCn09QAtg/UbFCZKUm0OI/AAAAAAAABCs/tywyMdS7Z8I/s320/204_1050.JPG

To Here!

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lWUFXvQ88WU/UbFCaH0IGFI/AAAAAAAABC0/cFTEyKa3ioE/s320/204_1053.JPG  http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V1wRDjnrXNw/UbFCbMQLDcI/AAAAAAAABC8/PZBf8UAIWic/s320/204_1054.JPG

Basically given that the Steel Legion have only have Steel Legionaries and nothing much above that I have been using Shock troops by wargames factory to build heavier troopers. Firstly thinking Storm troopers and later Vets.

So here my marbo is made of a shock troop body, a secret weapons head, and GW arms and gear. The rebreather tank on his back is also by Secret weapons.

Sgt Bastonne  is also coming along nicely!

Starting like this

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vyfdBTDKAcM/UbDLx1lPgnI/AAAAAAAABBw/llF4-EZhJFU/s320/204_1048.JPG

And ending the day like this!

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1exlichP7K0/UbFCbxuXQ-I/AAAAAAAABDM/y6dEv8Qmvn8/s320/204_1056.JPG http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xk46_vZlm2o/UbFCdWqrYWI/AAAAAAAABDU/pQqXpDzX438/s320/204_1057.JPG

I did manage to start the ogryn. Getting their pants, shirts and skin nearly done. next they will get a smoke wash and equipment will also get painted. basically every one of the infantry models got a little work today.

More as I am able! Thanks for looking!

This is quite an impressive vow. Maybe I need to explain mine by saying most of my Guard models are already painted? :P

You're making good progress, but don't forget you need a minimum of 2 pictures of each model for a valid vow: one for the WIP and one for completion to prove that you started and finished the model as part of your vow :)

I think I will end up with a little more then two pictures. The above are still just work in progress but the other mentioned models will all get their own pictures. as well. I just made the most progress on the two I posted here. The link in the first post will drop you to where I am hosting the pic's , my blog. But I thought it best to just drop in some pictures of real progress to keep things from getting cluttered up.

I actually had a lot of fun painting yesterday. I paint a lot but it's normally just a regimented task.

Thanks man, It's not the hardest vow. lol not even a lot of models! I till have to finish priming the vets. the tips of their guns were what I was holding while priming last night. I may airbrush their coats to speed thing up a little. The ogryn will be washed today and I still have tracks to add to the last bombard and a deathstrike to build. it almost cheating.. a lot of points in so few models. I am thinking of adding grey to the vets and marbo's coats or equipment.

I may have to wait on the tanks. I need some battle dress green for the base coats. Thats the majority color I have been using with the guard now.

Everything will be finished off with some nasty oil wash, black and brown.

Warriorfish, It's all good. No need to get all Sir henry Simmerson on me..lol http://1-media-cdn.foolz.us/ffuuka/board/tg/image/1355/70/1355700731624.jpg

all in good fun.teehee.gif

Daily Report Sir!

It was a nasty hot humid day today. So under these oppressive condition I pushed onward! the Ogryn and Col. Straken got the start of some tiger camo. Still early but they will be getting a redbrown and a little black mixed in should look good.

The vets got the rest of the black primmer. It looks like I have bent yet another airbrush needle...

I unboxed the Deathstrike  and started to spray it black.

All the Ogryn are washed and will get a black wash later and a skin retouch.

Emprah's biscuits, if you're going to compare me to anyone why did it have to be him?

Looking good, do you have a close up of the Ogyrns? I've always wanted to get a squad but the price of the models makes my eyes bleed.

I will see if I can get some really good Ogryn pictures during the course of this thread.

Will get stuckin again this evening when the world cools off enough to paint. (I live on a tropical death world. or deep in the hart of Florida)

Thanks for for cracking that whip! I know I need the ..motivation!

Might have a fairly solid update this evening! The Ogryn are coming along very nicely and the priest "mob" are getting some paint as well! The Vet squad is getting the coat color and so much progress all around! I will use my wife's digi cam for better shots of the Orgyn!

So another post this evening!

Edited to add a terrible picture of horrid Ogryn!

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jgCkLuM2Fdg/UbT_duYfI7I/AAAAAAAABFk/KNokItE-X5g/s320/205_1537.JPG

Warning very large pic' and the further away you are the better they look..

Still working on the Ogryn but they are getting close to done! I have to paint their ripper guns and some little details as well as finish the bases. The Vet's are no at the 2 color stage as are the priests. the commissar 3 are at about the 4 color stage.

All very meaningless.... But the war effort is on going!

The plan now is to get some assembly work done on the vehicles and they should be ready for paint next week!

Pic's again very soon.

I have the Deathstrike assembled now, the last bombard has tracks now and I am beginning to base coat everything with tracks! I managed to get some more paint on the bastion as well. But I will need to think extra hard about it. It's large and flat. mostly. So I have added my base coat green over the camo that was already their ans started to shade ans shadow the ledges and pok marks. Small progress.

Pic's forth coming.

Update! Some Progress Pic's.

 Vehicle progress this time.

Here are some early pictures of the Bombards/Colossus

All piled in a box. I had recently traded for two more prior to the IA1 V2 nerfing.  Not colors I wanted to use.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4T5KZ0UBkL0/UbDLu7OPJ5I/AAAAAAAABBM/R-dxJ8m8Y0Q/s320/204_1044.JPGhttp://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mH8r0cWB_mU/UbKIEvaym9I/AAAAAAAABEo/O6vZxYCbBcQ/s320/204_1067.JPG

And here is how things are coming along!

A look at the Deathstrike next

And another look at the Chimera as well.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YIeFcUKRXOo/UcGpeX1rmiI/AAAAAAAABJs/w2z5R1YBe6I/s320/206_0029.JPGhttp://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BAgOeyxm0IM/UcGpgszMMtI/AAAAAAAABJ8/n1rsgjBq_Ns/s320/206_0030.JPG

Some where I have a picture of it with a green base coat..

I have to say I like the way things are coming out! These have been a lot of fun to paint. The only issue being airbrush issues due to a lack of a good cleaning. So all my fault.

I have just a little more camo to paint and then it's back to the paint brush and washes!

Thanks for looking!

Thank you again, Warriorfish. Things have slowed down for now. I have decided that the light green wasn't showing up enough so I am trying to add just a touch more, seems the paint had started to really harden so I have added thinner. Wish me luck. I have to say this has helped me mentally quite a lot.  My head has been cluttered and unfocused the last month or so.  I am in the midst of a commission and need to get it out the door.  But thanks to wanting to "hobby" I have got a dent into the last leg of my project and felt good doing it.

Also I may have had yet another breakthrough. I have done a few test models for my DKoK. But fingers crossed. That was all due to the two legion soldiers in my little video I linked over. Those two will be ..rewarded with being put back the way they should have been.

I feel like things are moving along so well I am planning my next vow.

As of now I am looking at the Leman Russ company. But not all of them would be appropriate.  Some have way too much work already done to them and are painted in the same colors and nearly the dame way to boot. But I do have a few that were traded for   that would work. regardless I will be paying penance. Painting all of them even though not all of them will count.

well thanks again every one for letting me vent my mind a little. More progress soon.

I can understand that, work has been exhausting me so I've not been able to find the time for my vow. That and the weather has been pretty poor lately and I much prefer to work in natural daylight but I've got some free time coming up where I plan to do my duty to forum and Emperor :)

Don't forget that you must complete all vows, if you fail to complete one they're all invalidated! Considering the time constraints I'm under I might have to revise my plan to make my next vow a Baneblade - perhaps better to play it safe with a smaller vow rather than risk undoing all I've worked on and bringing ruin to our cause...

Keep up the good work uber :D

Vehicle wip update this evening or in the morning! All the vehicles are moving along at a nice pace. Next up will be more work on the bastion. Still not sure about the Deathstrike rocket. Based metallic thinking one color plus metallic on imperial icons and black around the boosters. but we will see.

I will be back to the infantry models shortly everything has to be prepped for oil wash. and the wash should be done in one sitting.

And then some extra points. Should have a list by Monday for the next vow. Expecting tanks and artillery.and maybe a defense line as well. But will see.

The work prior to the oil washing is done. Though I still have a small bit to do on the rocket.

Tracks are black now but will be weathered when were done.

I am using a the same green/yellow color on all the standard parts. meaning caps or maintenance spots , hinges and trim.

Also bolt gun metal for as you see it here.

not too much left to do.

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-O8hOWLSxdaU/UcXQOk6Vw1I/AAAAAAAABKk/n8TPYzmYTeY/s320/206_0031.JPG

No new pictures of the bastion yet. I am considering weather or not to camo it again.. Going to use the same trim color as well. That much I do know.

I thought I would be done with the Bastion today. But I am not pleased with how it is coming out. So no more camo. I am going to paint it again. Dark green, grey green in sections to look more like a building. I think my desire for a camo was a wrong choice.
