Very nice work. And if rumours are to be believed we may well have access to things like this in the next Codex.

Ah yes, i've heard the rumour too.

"brick wall, 50 pts"

This fortification consists of several smaller sections that can be places seperatly or connected. possible upgrades are:

-bird poo (+5pts); the brick wall counts as dangerous terrain. this represents the soldier slipping over the bird poo and breaking his neck.

-inspiring grafiti (+10 pts): the brick wall has been decorated extensivly by bored artificers. as such it makes any units of your army withing 6" stubborn and grants them the "it will not die" special rule

inspired by the recent topic on aggresive guardsmen i did another reading of my inquisitor codex, took some pen and paper and decided to let my brain relax a bit from studying all that chemistry and focus on some armybuilding!

my latest list had two dropsentinels in it,which had some limited succes against my opponent (a tau+necron combined force), mostly due to bad scattering, that BS3 MM missing his rearshots against longstrike (who actually kills a tank a turn and therefor must die as soon as possible). total point cost:160ptswho so far never really made their points back.

now all this fidling around with the inquisitor codex made me think of including a small inquisitorial detachment, and here's what i came up with:

-ordo xenos inquisitor: bolt pistol, forcesword, psycher (1x divination power), 3 servo skulls(to deny my opponent infiltrating/making my artillery twin linked) 64 pts
-henchmen warband: 6 x HB servitor, 1 x jakaero 95 pts

now this little unit almost seems too good to be true! on a 2 these HB get 48" range, meaning the tau won't be able to hide for these shots!, on a 3 they get a 3+ armour save, a 4 makes the heavy bolters rending and a 5 gives all the models a 5+ inv save. and on a 6 i get to roll twice! this small unit will hurl out 18 heavy bolter shots a turn! making them very deadly!

anyway, since my brain also needed relaxing i devled into my bitbox and decided to do some converting, and here's what came out of that!

the gunservitors:

-project XIV: inquiisitor .... succesfully transplanted an ork head onto another ork, using an arcance brainnode device to couple both of the orks their brains and increase their IQ exponentially. this has resulted in the ork now being capable of more rudimentary thinking work,as well as basic mechanical understanding. two psyrod pens insterted in their brains are linked to one of the many implants inquisitor ... has done on himself to guarantee the orks will always be obeyant to the inquisitor.

-project VIIIBAIII: this servitors body was greatly enhanced using aggressive DNA coupling to the DNA stems of the ork species. so far this has resulted in exponential musclular growth

and the others who still need some fluff:

now i'm really looking forward to using these in a game, which will take some take before that will happen again. either way they were a lot of fun to build and as you might have noticed i will still need to build 2 other servitors and a jakaero!

it might take a while, due to studies and not really feeling like painting in general.i haven't got many games in either, but that is mostly due to most of my time going to horseriding nowadays! perhaps when spring hits i might feel more like painting, especially since i really dislike applying undercoats by hand.

Applying undercoats by hand is truly the last measure of the desperate hobbyist :P After playing some games yesterday my desire to paint has been rejuvenated fully, I've just got to direct the focus of that away from my Dark Eldar and back to my Guardsmen. Once I've finished building them of course!

I look forward to seeing them painted when your zeal has returned :)

Outstanding work!

I love that Inquisitor, particularly his cat o' razor tails.

And the servitors are very well done. A good use of spare HWT heavy bolters and those Ork bodies don't look bad at all.

May just have to steal that idea...

so yesterday evening i was bored after all that studying and the teams on world of tanks were just annoying me so hard that i decided to give the undercoating by hand and painting a try!

the result is i now hate myself, as during the painting session on my desk i managed to trip the paint-washing pot all over my smartphone, desk (including my notes for tomorrows exam!wallbash.gif ),bed and floor...
for now i think i definetly won't paint atleast until finals are over!

anyway. here's how far i got!

still a lot to do with this model. but as i said before i don't want to risk destroying my notes even more!

Warriorsfish recent topic about artillery, combined with a daily dose of world of tanks, facing against, yes, artillery really made me wanting to build a german based artillery piece. however since i don't intend to spend much more money on GW, i decided to convert one of my old conversions, the medusa.

here's what it looked like before:

http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/SL271362.jpg

yet somehow i never really like the openness of the basilisk. Inspired by the hummel and others their conversions i set out with my cutter and plasticard, and a couple of hourse later my exams are totally forgotten, and a new artillerypiece joins my ranks!

and with an add-on barrel to make a basilisk if needed:

http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140129_235823_zps9kllhxyi.jpg

little bit wonky

offcourse such an artillery piece will be lovely decorated with killmarkings by it's crew, but in addition to that I also want it to have a name on it and who'm better to give this tank a name than the artillerymaster, warriorfish, himself! it's his fault i made this conversion anyway!

Excellent work hendrik! You honour me by giving it my name, though it is really Argun who is the artillery master. You've seen his collection right?

The conversion from Medusa to Basilisk is good, it is something I wondered about ages ago when I built my Bassies but I didn't have the bits/ideas. Can you give us a quick run down on how you did it?

I agree with Kier on the additions, something to let the crew peer out from would look better. As for the wonkiness you can just say it was from a failed enemy attack and give it some damage and scorch marks!

you got it wrong, it didn't intend to name it warriorfish, but i'm asking you to come up with a name for it. although i could name it warriorfish.basicly you're given carte-blanche for naming it (though i'm not going to paint a 35 letter-name on it!)

the medusa was made by cutting down the basilisk barrel, putting green stuff around it and place a valkyrie missile pod(open on both sides) over the cut down barrel. the end of the barrel was than scluplted in green stuff. it proudebly would have looked better if i had sanded it down a bit to look less sculpted.

In that case give it my name, I want to smite the Emperor's enemies in tank form!

This makes me want to get my hobby on again, but I will mostly be busy this weekend forging a new PC. I should get the opportunity to grab some new glue though so if all goes well I'll be back to modelling next week! Though I should stop getting these ideas about new projects and finish what I've got, it's like I've got hobby scatter brain lately.

and yet another plasticard construction joins the cadian 812th!

still need to do some gap filling. the shoddy tracks will be covered with mud so that should hide the ugly tracks, while still giving them some profile. This badboy was a lot of fun to build, especially now i've discovvered cutting plasticard with normal scissors is so much easier than using a cutter and most likely will get a sibling in a couple of weeks.
