WarriorFish
What Kier said! That's really cool, once it's painted up you probably won't be able to tell it's scratch built. hendrik
all this talking about the ETLIII made me pull out the brushes again, unfortunatly once more on a tank (why is infantry so boring to paint!). anyway, hope you all like the result! http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140301_233808_zpsjiy2jyt9.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140301_233819_zpssm4cid57.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140301_233826_zpsbbf3alks.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140301_233856_zpsfohqchw2.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140301_233906_zpsojaeknkb.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277452-cadian-812th/page/7/#findComment-3606794 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
Good to see it finished, the colour scheme works well on tanks. We're going to have to see an army shot soon at this rate :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277452-cadian-812th/page/7/#findComment-3607059 Share on other sites
hendrik
you mean something like this? http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/DSC_7531_zpse6d822c1.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/DSC_7544_zpsf1fd9f64.jpg the camo sheme dooes seem to work OK http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/DSC_7535_zps0ad389fb.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/DSC_7542_zps46e675ae.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/DSC_7541_zps4b92b07d.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/DSC_7539_zpsfb140bb1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277452-cadian-812th/page/7/#findComment-3607165 Share on other sites
Warhawk Shizu
The camo does actually blend in fairly well. O.o That is pretty cool. I would be worried about loosing them to the grass if you looked away for a while. Â Also I love your little Cyclops, it looks pretty much the same as the original. They are so adorable. And people have this irrational fear of them. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277452-cadian-812th/page/7/#findComment-3607253 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
hendrik we've been over this - there's a real chance you might lose some in the foliage because their camouflage works too well! I'm sure I'm not the only one who instantly had Ride of the Valkyries playing in my head the moment I saw the first picture... good stuff I look forward to seeing their number grow Sadly I'm out of likes for today so you're going to have to wait Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277452-cadian-812th/page/7/#findComment-3607311 Share on other sites

Kilofix
When I was a kid, I (as many of us probably did) played with my 'tanks' outdoors in the dirt. Those last few pics bring back some memories. Â Â Wonder how my opponent would feel if the next time I played my IG, all the models tracked in real dirt / mud. Â Lol, LGS probably wouldn't approve. hendrik
You could always host such a game in your own garden, followed up by a nice barbecue when summer finally starts! An other option consists of making your own table, line it properly with some pond sheet and filling it with mud etc. Heck, you could even turn it into a small garden, bonsai trees included! WarriorFish
We thought of that, but it doesn't really work as someone has to do the BBQ (me) and you can't BBQ and 40k at the same time. I suppose you could have a BBQ afterwards but then that's more time that could be spent playing games! Pizzas are our traditional 40k food, usually followed by a bit of cake for debriefing and of course plenty of drink :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277452-cadian-812th/page/7/#findComment-3607883 Share on other sites
hendrik
today i've painted the first guardsmen of my krieg 317th assault brigade. i went with a similar colour sheme as my cadian 812th because: -this will help to tie both armies together. -i quite like all the green DKoK models i've seen on the internet so far.  anyway, pictures! http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/DSC_7624_zpse25266ad.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/DSC_7620_zpscc4ed9dd.jpg  http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/DSC_7622_zps0a12ab2c.jpg both armies tie together quite well in my opinion. WarriorFish
Looks like he's about to shovel a xenos head! Good stuff, though wouldn't it be a better idea to have them on the same bases to tie them together more? hendrik
about the bases, definetly! but almost none of my cadian 812th their bases are finished. the DKoK bases were experiments using liquid greenstuff to create a muddy texture.although, although not many of the cadian models are based, my artillery is, and i'm not sure if i feel like rebasing them into muddy terrain since i've added patches of flock to them here and there. when the next DKoK models arrive i'll try to make a muddy base and a current base style and see how they look together. if it doesn't work out i can still alway claim the DKoK 317th alway get the most muddy situations while the cadian 812th armoured battalion and supporting infantry stick to the more solid ground Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277452-cadian-812th/page/7/#findComment-3630175 Share on other sites

hendrik
the cadian 812th ain't dead yet! here's warriorfish, PIP. since GW decided to drop the medusa from the current dex it was a quick decision how to photograph it! http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/IMG_20140415_223648_zpsbckzyzlg.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/IMG_20140415_223708_zpskfx7sabg.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/IMG_20140415_223619_zpsjikwrzyz.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277452-cadian-812th/page/7/#findComment-3654082 Share on other sites
Nicodemus Doloroso
Looking great, Hendrik. The camo pattern really works, too. Â Why do your Cadians not look as huge next to your DKoK as mine do? Maybe its the paint scheme. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277452-cadian-812th/page/7/#findComment-3654414 Share on other sites
hendrik
I don't know, but my DKoK came from china ;) so far I've recieved a very well cast command squad and 2 not so well casted infantry squads that will need a lot of mud to cover all the lack of details on their legs. Atleast they were cheap! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277452-cadian-812th/page/7/#findComment-3654523 Share on other sites
