Is this because we were talking about it earlier? I look forward to seeing how this progresses! biggrin.png

absolutely! i've always liked the malcador chassis, especially the malcador leman russ conversions and while bored yesterday stumbled across some decent enough plans on how to build one from plasticard. The pattern worked wonders for the sides, which i really like but the hull piece didn't work out well so i had to redesign that entire section. so far this one only took me only about 3 hours to churn out, most of that time wondering how to reshape the hull section. partly because it was a standard malcadors hull and not an infernus one.

now that the ETL is over for me i felt like converting, so i set out to make a simple gun carriage. after some fidling around here's the result:

what would you field it as? as autocannon seems a bit dull since the significant size difference as can be seen in the last picture

i decided the design sucked, and the model couldn't really be used in game for anything decent, however, it did give me a good system of making a wheel mounted cannon carriage. based upon the design i set forth and managed to create this:

a quad gun launcher, with an easy to replicate build, so i can easely make more of it!

managed to get some more work done today, however, i also ran out of superglue so this is where this project will remain for more than a month as i'm off to go on a horsebackriding internship in the Royal ridingschool Buckeburg, in germany.

Anyway, here's the status!

and i managed to finish the heavy stubbers too!

i believe i'm now halfway the build as most of the structural hull is finished.

All plates are indeed cut per papercraft pattern (1mm). It's not always a good fit due to the thickness of the plasticard but once glued they can easily be cut in a well aligned manner. The rods started from 1mm and I always took rods that fit into eachother in increasing sizes.
