Well it's suggested Mortarion deliberately did it upon Nurgles request. He took over the navigation of the fleet I think and then becalmed them and allowed Nurgle to get his slimy paws on them.

You mean Typhon, right?

Yeah sorry, meant Typhon.

Khan gets attacked by the psychic predators on Prospero and finds his way to the reflecting caves where he meets Magnus as the chapter ends

We meet the Thousand Son from the story in Age of Darkness who returned to Prospero and found it devastated

Shiban attends a Lodge meeting and realizes that there is a pro Horus faction within the Legion

Yesugai taps into the warp machine and finds that it displays a hololith of the galaxy, where the Legions are and also the progression of the warp storms summoned during Betrayer. It also notes that nothing is shown from Terra and also that the Raven Guard and Night Lords are absent

Can someone please provide details on the Imperial Truth since it's hinted at a lot but no definite details are escaping

IIRC Typhon was one of the first traitors and architects of the Horus Heresy with Erebus and Kor Phaeron, but I don't remember where I read that or If I read it at all. In that case is normal that he is so corrupted to that point of the story.

Betrayer strongly suggests it in the scene where Erebus shows up from Calth and Lorgar gives him a vocal smackdown.

Yeah wasn't it to the effect of:

"You brought all my ships back right?

Erebus, "Nope the-"

"You brought most of my sons back right?"

Erebus, "well you see-"

"So you utterly defeated those curs the Ultramarines and we never have to worry about them ever again right?"

"Not really"

"WELL THEN. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE YOU PIECE O' CRAP?!"

Yeah, that was supposed to read like this but I accidentally missed a page... whistling.gif

Thaaaat's it, thanks Kol.

After what depthcharge said I have the urge to read that scene again tongue.png

It's not quite a smackdown, it's more like "I told you so, no, not helping Kor Phaeron, I'm telling you, Sangy won't turn, come on man listen to me bro."

No, the part about "Calth exceeded all expectations? So you didn't lose half the fleet and Guilliman is now dead along with 60% of the Ultramarines' Legion forces as well as the various millions of Army and Mechanicus Allies?" "Uh uh uh uh uh" "Yeah, shut up you idiot." was the verbal smackdown. But the two were halves of the same conversation.

It was pretty subtle, which was all the more awesome because it happened in front of others and it was snake-like. Reverse psychology!!!!

Yeah I remember Typhon being an architect of the Heresy just like those other two snakes.

Nurgle, early on, whispered (or farted) sweet nothings into his ear to give up the Death Gaurd in exchange for UNHLIMITED POWHA

The best part is, it actually met Lorgar's expectations. Or at least most of them.
It was Lorgar reminding Erebus who is actually in charge, as Erebus and Kor Phaeron had been bickering between themselves on who was Chaos' top dog. Not unlike Horus skinning Erebus' face off, which just sounds horrifying.

We've not seen the end of Erebus' plotting, I'm afraid. And, like Fulgrim, no matter how many tables you smash his head into, he's incredibly dangerous and bound to hurt both traitor and loyalist plans in favour his own fate with the Gods and their perceived plans.

Ah, if only Chaos didn't strangle itself so much...

I like that Argel Tal didn't die at Terra like in the vision Lorgar saw, it's cool that the Primarch was duped...but I'm still not convinced he's dead. And I don't like the character (not how he's written, I mean his personality) that much, so this isn't fanboyism.

Unlike with Khârn. I swear, when ADB hinted at just how brutal Khârn will become with Khorne's help, I almost carved a chaotic rune from my cat.

It wasn't Lorgar who saw Argel Tal die at Terra. He did have one of many visions where he saw Argel Tal at Terra.

It was Argel Tal-Raum who saw Argel Tal die at Terra, beneath the shadows of great wings. Or rather, Raum showed him that he would die under the shadow of great wings, and Argel Tal interpreted that as dying under Sanguinius' shadow. Which is why I think A D-B threw in that bit when Argel Tal panicked as Corax's winged shadow fell on him at Istvaan V. Such an indistinct prophecy can always be fooled into coming true, as Erebus proved by killing him under the shadow of a statue aquila.
