Conn Eremon
Well, the Night Lords worshiped their God. His name was Night Haunter. They just weren't quite as Scientologist-crazy about it as the Word Bearers were with their God. Emperor's Furor
I would of thought with the fact Perturabo could see the gate way to the gods (eye of terror) he may of been open to worshipping them, but venerating them in creating temples and places of worth himself as opposed to the more dogmatic lecturing and preaching that Lorgar would of done. Without the visions Lorgar had of the Emperor it's reasonable to assume he to could of fell straight into worshiping the "pantheon" of gods Colchis's old faith had. It's the vision Lorgar receives that is the most defining moment of molding his character imo, if it hadn't been for that then Lorgar would most likely of fell into worshipping the Old Faith (perhaps that's what the chaos gods wanted), likewise if Perturabo had landed there and saw the eye of terror and told his adopted father who knows what the people would of thought of him. Just because you can see your god, doesn't mean you will have faith in him. Look at the Night Lords. I know, but coupled with the existing faith on the planet it would be more likely for a Primarch put 2 and 2 together and get 4 than for him to get 3. Noctus Cornix
God? Hell, many Night Lords hated Curze or couldn't care less about him. Just because we see deluded protagonists like Talos or Sahaal seeing him as more than he is doesn't mean the Legion made him out as some sort of God. Kol Saresk
God? Hell, many Night Lords hated Curze or couldn't care less about him. Just because we see deluded protagonists like Talos or Sahaal seeing him as more than he is doesn't mean the Legion made him out as some sort of God.Then again, one could argue that we saw him as a god and hated him for it. Arrogance is a common trait after all, a Supreme Being cannot abide by a Being that exists above him. Although funnily enough, I was referring to the fact that the Night Lords acknowledge the Dark Gods as being "gods" but in reality, couldn't care less except when it came to making bargains for power. Brother Heinrich
I love the fractured nature of my legion, everyone thinks they know the 'true' Curze. Makes for great characters all around. Me, I just like skinning people... The Black Legion has a lot of the same thing going on. We've seen stances ranging from "Horus was weak, Horus was a fool" (Abaddon) to "We stained our armor black in eternal mourning for the greatest man who ever lived" (Black Legion Lord in "Dark Mechanicum" whose name escapes me) and of course there are the renegades who openly worship Horus and build giant idols of him on the worlds they conquer. Conn Eremon
Lupercal, Chaos God of uh . . . Depression? Mourning? Failure? Unfinished business? All things considered in the 40k universe, I'm sure those emotions should be powerful enough to warrant their own God. We just don't hear about him. He doesn't come out much, and he really doesn't do much of any-- OH MY GOD HE'S LORGAR. Kol Saresk
Didn't they make a God of "Unfinished Business" after they culled Malal? IIRC, he never panned out. Conn Eremon
Who needs Hellfire when you have Soulfire? For that matter, who needs anything when you got Dresden's connections and allies? Abaddon vs. Mouse? Money's on the dog. Za Guard vs. Tyranid Hive Fleet? Those xenos bit off more than they can chew. Ork Warboss about to take out a Arbitrator? No prob, Murph's got this. If all else fails, we can always get in contact with those Winchester boys in the Ordo Malleus. I heard they broke the Warp once. I heard they broke the Warp once. I'm very uncomfortable with this idea. Those guys let too many evil schemes run right to the very edge of ultimate victory due to the fact that they won't just talk about their problems with one another. Hmmm....... We're sure they're not Primarchs, right? Ace Debonair
If that's the case I'm changing my Sons of =][=DELETED=][= to Ultramarines geneseed. Anyway. If Colchis-Perturabo can see the Eye of Terror, I wonder would he be more like 'I'm not sure worshipping these is a good idea' or 'oh cool, that must be grimdark fluffy cloud heaven where the gods live.' On a different note, I wonder if it'd be possible to shuffle the Primarchs around so that everyone turns out more or less OK? You know, find one who can beat/escape the Butcher's Nails, one that can tame nostramo, one that can defy the gods on Colchis, etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/280098-nature-vs-nurture-the-what-if-edition/page/26/#findComment-3476009 Share on other sites

Dosjetka
Heh, the polearms are just for show. The swiss gaurd evidently pack a lot of heat, have an extensive armory, and are drawn from the swiss elite. Nothing worse then getting beaten up by a guy who pulls a corkscrew out of his standard issue knife to shank the bejeezus outta you. Hah, that last line made me laugh for quite a while, thanks for that But it is indeed true that the Swiss Guard members are drawn exclusively from the Swiss Army's elite division (DRA 10) and then given another year or two of training just to be sure, so they could most probably "beat the bejeezus out outta you" with just a corkscrew Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/280098-nature-vs-nurture-the-what-if-edition/page/26/#findComment-3476195 Share on other sites
Wade Garrett
I thought we decided the missing two were Dean Winchester and Wile E. Coyote? THE ROAD SO FAR Carry on my wayward son, there'll be peace when you are done.... "Geeze Konrad, why can't you just knock it off with the complaining and accept that maybe, just maybe, Dad knows what he's doing?" "Why can't you ever try thinking for yourself instead of just being Dad's little soldier, Rogal?" "How about both of you idjits shut yer pie holes and capture this planet instead of whining like women about yer daddy?" "Sorry Leman." "Sorry." Once I rose above the noise and confusion, just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion... "All these visions, and the killing people, and the, and the...YOU'RE A MONSTER, CURZE!" "I'm your brother, Dorn! This is what Dad wanted! This is what he made me!" Lay your weary head to rest...and don't you cry no more. "You really think you can do it, Rogal? Kill yer own brother?" "HE'S NOT MY BROTHER! HE'S NOT! Now, if you're done pretending to my dad, I'm gonna go lock myself in the Pain Glove for a few hours. Then I'm gonna eat some pie. And maybe, just maybe, I'll forget about all this crap I'm having to deal with JUST A LITTLE WHILE!" "Balls." (Edited, because Cormac pointed out I don't know my Kansas lyrics.) Kurze has long dark hair, gets visions of bad stuff happening, and has issues with his dad. Rogal Dorn has short spikey hair and is almost psychotically loyal to his dad. It's a pretty good fit I think. (Dean drowns his sorrows in alcohol and loose women, Rogal does the same by torturing himself. Dean has the Impala, Dorn has Phalanx...) and of course Russ is leathery, bearded, drinks a lot, and often takes it upon himself to dispense down home folksy wisdom to those he considers his kin. I think it all fits pretty well. Now, the real question is, would Vulkan or Roboute be a better fit for Rufus?
