Torbenos
You do amazing work as has been said many times. The colours are utterly striking and vivid. Majkhel
Oooh, something new! The highlights are more pronounced on this one, less real-looking and more comic-like (at least that's what comes to my mind). He will certainly stand out discretely in the ranks of his brothers. The delicate OSL from the sword and the superb screen of the auspex are a great touch. Chazzmos
Fantastic work on the lieutenant, particularly that sword/OSL and the auspex as others have mentioned. In the hope of one day recreating something like this, did you mask and airbrush the sword then edge highlight? And for the OSL effect, did you airbrush it on and then edge highlight? EDIT: I forgot to ask, did you ever end up completing your Space Wolf tutorial? LutherMax
First of all - thanks! About the sword, I painted one series of colours (dark to light) down the blade, then masked one half and did the same in the opposite direction. Edge highlights followed. The OSL was airbrushed - using very thin versions of the base colours. The Space Wolf guide is coming soon ;) Chazzmos 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282574-luthers-wosp-works-of-slow-progress/page/33/#findComment-5249281 Share on other sites

LutherMax
Thanks Grieux! Ugh... I've had to delay the Space Wolf guide for a whole load of reasons. All the pics are taken, I just need to write it and lay it out. It's coming as soon as I can get back on it :| Meantime, I finished these a while ago and have only just got around to posting them: Shovellovin, Battybattybats, Paland and 10 others 13 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282574-luthers-wosp-works-of-slow-progress/page/33/#findComment-5262580 Share on other sites
Majkhel
Lovely work as always! How are you making your blackened blades? I can see you're not starting from pure black.BTW, are you thinking on adding some of those Primaris snipers from the oncoming Shadowspear box? :) LutherMax 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282574-luthers-wosp-works-of-slow-progress/page/33/#findComment-5262585 Share on other sites

BTW, are you thinking on adding some of those Primaris snipers from the oncoming Shadowspear box? :) Thanks! I painted the blades Vallejo Metal Color ‘Exhaust Manifold’ - which is a lovely dark metallic colour. Then washes of Nuln Oil and Agrax, and scratches / highlights with Vallejo Model Air Steel. And I will DEFINITELY be getting Shadowspear :D Majkhel 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282574-luthers-wosp-works-of-slow-progress/page/33/#findComment-5262658 Share on other sites

Midnightmare
Perfect execution on those Reivers mate, well done. Just the right amount of weathering on them.
