Small Update

Worked on some of my Tactical marines today, wasn't really in the mood to finish the Terminators, Maybe later this week.

As they stand now. Yellows mostly done, just needs a wash, and damage.

Played a small 1k game against some necrons the other day, Pleased to say my Marines Malevolent brought the pain to the foul xeno's, I will get some pictures next time!

Looking good, brother. The battle damage is very light, I haven't experimented with it, yet.

Update time!

I got some time to myself last night, Wanted to see a dread painted up so i did! Hes not done yet but hes getting there.

Just a standard Ironclad dread. With hopefully a nice fluff piece for you to enjoy!

Siege master Amon Ironclad Dreadnought

Interred into a dreadnought after the Siege of Ossa Magi.

From a feral tribe who practice’s combat from a young age,
not trained in the fine arts of war, they are trained in the most basic of
combat instincts kill or be killed. Keep fighting until you can no longer draw
breath. And when there are no foes left, you prepare for the next.

Due to this mindset, Brother Amon became a fearless
destructive force in the Marines Malevolent, Rose quickly into a Sargent
position. He excelled at siege warfare, He proved this countless times. Being
the key asset in the destruction of many an Enemy fortress.

Siege of Ossa Magi

Brother Amon led the charge in the siege against the foul forces arrayed in this fortress that practiced
the foul chaos energies and using them under the guidance of former brethren
the death guard. Rewarded With Terminator Armor for previous valor he led the
Squad Bane into the fray.

First through the wall. First into the keep.
Brother Amon paved the way into the keep for his brothers. First to land a blow
on their foul Warlord, during the climax of the battle Amon was felled by the
foul weapon wielded by the warlord, in his final moment drove his Chain fist
through the warlord’s skull, spraying brain and bone matter in a huge gout.

Wounded beyond all hope, Legion Apothecary’s
and Tech marine Interred Brother Amon into a Dreadnought, Of the Ironclad
Variant. To allow him eternally wage war.

Mmmhmm, I do love me some Hurricane Bolters. 

 

I like the battle damage so far, nice and subtle, also a fan of the dark ocher scheme, I'm definitely more partial to darker shades of Malevolence ;)

I'm quite partial to the Hurricane bolters so so good, they just look badass hahah!

Origins

Successor of: Imperial Fists

Reason for Creation:


After the Siege of Terra and his grievance in seeing the Emperor mortally wounded and 2 of his brother’s dead.

Dorns grief was immense. Until that point he had been true, noble and enduring, but know his vengeance knew no bounds. Leveling fortress after fortress Dorn and his fists carved a swathe of destruction through the traitor legions as they fled.

During this time a Captain in the 6th Company excelled in this new found cause, Captain Brann. He became renowned for his fury and zeal in destroying the Heretics as they fled, destroying everything in their path the 6th company where the last to return upon their recall to Terra to find their legion was being split into 3. Not fond of this Ideal he grew restless in the Imperial fists, disdain grew inside of him, wanting return to his calling, Razing fortress's and pulverizing any enemy of man that stood in the way of his hate.


After years of fighting for his “Chapter” Once a proud legion, he was growing more and more furious towards Guilliman for his “Codex” Decree and even towards Dorn who blindly and foolishly followed it.


In the 3rd founding a certain few High Lords of Terra were like minded as Brann and Saw that he would be fit to lead a new force of space marines, one which followed the Imperial truth, one which followed the Emperors Edicts.



Hence the Marines Malevolent were born.

The position of War-master was given to Captain Brann. Along with a small fleet comprised of

  • 2 Strike Cruisers- Malevolence and Perodi
  • 4 Frigates - Excessus, Decessus, Nox, Imum

Before the first assault of the Marines Malevolent, in space above the planet named 001. The first compliance.

“They are not the Emperors Chosen! They are weak they do
not deserve to wear his Mark. The fools had split into Chapters!

The fools!

He decreed Legions. He wanted legions to destroy the Xenos
and unite the galaxy under the banner of the Imperium, to bring his truth to
the galaxy, the Imperial truth!

He denied his divinity and they worship him as
one!

They are not worthy of their power!

They are not worthy of the arms they bear!

They are as pathetic as the Xenos we purge as we bring our mailed fist down on planet after planet, bringing them into compliance in the name of our Emperor!

For glory! For hate! In the name of the Emperor!”


War-master Brann of the Marines Malevolent.



This callous disregard for the fate of others has proven less than popular with those who serve alongside them, and on one occasion has almost resulted in an outright feud with the Salamanders Chapter. Although the war record of the Marines Malevolent can be described as exemplary, many of their erstwhile wartime allies have questioned this Chapter's conduct in the prosecution of a campaign. Though none would nay-say their effectiveness in battle, several other Space Marine Chapters consider the Marines Malevolent belligerent, antagonistic and wanting in brotherhood with their fellow Astartes. This has resulted in many forces of the Imperium refusing to serve alongside this infamous Legion.

There are even whispers of outright distaste from their Gene-Brothers, others of the line of Dorn.

That during a Feast of Blades the Marines Malevolent champion almost killed another champion, Even after surrender was extended, For the Brother saw the surrender as weakness and refused to stop. Forced to leave and never to return the Marines Malevolent were hence forth exiled by their brothers.

Belief


The Marines Malevolent take a callous view on the galaxy, that there is no such thing as excessive and force is always required and callateral damage is non existent. If civilians or innocents happen to die due to the tactics deployed then so bit it. For there is no such thing as "Innocence" only the temporary absence of it.
If you cannot protect yourself then you are not worthy of his grace and must cease to be.

Thanks guys, mini update aswell!

Did some work on my honor guard last night aswell, just the one to figure out what they'll look like as they will be riding in said landraider as a full 10man with chapter master. Nice and nasty to certain units hehe, ive made one arm silver on these guys, not sure why was a spur of the moment thing but I like it haha

They do look a bit green.. I'll try take a few more photos see if they llook better :)

 

I'm very pleased with the relic blade, I usually do them over a solid blue, but I think the black makes the lightning effect pop more!

So I've done some more to the land raider today, Mainly making the metal parts of it rusted using the new dry paint Ryza Rust, which I'm finding quite nice.

And one side of it has been base coated for the yellow.

Didn't take a picture of the right side as well, its just black at the moment. I'm not to sure what to put on the black panels though, the ones under the launchers and the rear panel, Any idea's? Was thinking red but it feels like it might be a bit to bland..? Suggestions?
