Hey all, Just a side project I have decided to do/ Wanted to do for ages and never had the Forge world parts.

 

So for Christmas i got about 15 Forge world models and I've used 5 for my Marines Malevolent.(Irony!!)

So i was left with the question what should i do with the rest, Mostly MK VI Armor, I didn't want to do raven guard as well... They're awesome and all but i don't want to paint black. Then i was like oh Do ultra's but then i was like hmm what about green! Do salamanders..

 

So i rolled a D6 1-3 was Ultra 4-6 was Salamander. I rolled a 6. I think it was ment to be haha.

 

So I put one together in a snap fit of energy and this is how he turned out.

And for a base i quickly put together 2 options i have no clue which one i prefer as i like both. I'm planning an Isstvan V based force.

Greens so much quicker to paint than yellow! I am enjoying this more then i should be, I now know why the heresy craze is buzzing at the moment haha.

Update!!

So I've mostly completed this guy, been an absolute joy to paint. A lot more then i thought it would, now this is my first attempt at using Transfer sheets, cant say I'm thrilled with the result *mental note to save and get the FW shoulders with my next order!* So the transfers will have to do till then. The final green looks a bit lighter in the photos then real life so its not that bright!

So I'm quite happy with him, just going to do the last of the base/ muddy him up, I'm going to do battle damage at some point just not right now. (We can just say hes only recently gone into battle!)

The Sallie looks good ,When I do my decals I put a gloss sealer on the pad let dry add decal and then use lariman sealer over the dcal it hides the clear film on it.

The SGT looks Cool And a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

That said, I've got a Salamander in my Deathwatch, I imagine he's less than impressed to be working alongside the Malevolents.

Just go slow brother that's what I'm doing with the death guard just squad by squad ;)

 

Loving the palett your using my only suggestion would be a 50/50 wash of way watcher green and lahmian medium to slightly darken the green but that's just my taste

Way watcher the glaze? Am I safe to assume the medium will mute the gloss ? I like matte colours is all ;)

Well thinning it out with the medium takes the shine off but still adds depth with the colour sort of dulls the glaze into a bit of a wash
