Jolemai
My group's annual Apocalypse bash is in a week and a half and this is the first time we have played this version. I will have under my command a mere 4200 points of suitably painted Blood Angels and my Warlord will be Mephiston. I was hoping that those who have experience with the new ruleset could give me a few tips. So far I believe that I should choose Son of the Angel for my Finest Hour (Mephiston will become a Flying Monstrous Creature for that turn) and, combined with calling an All Out Attack (movement tripled, can still charge/ram/tankshock but not shoot) could be issued on, say turn two (or whenever the opportunity presents itself), but what else? I'll likely only get one strategy card, so what is a good strategy card for a hybrid Blood Angels army these days? My "go to" option has always been the Vortex Grenade (D, Blast, Vortex), but perhaps giving Mephiston the Relic Weapon (+2 STR, +2 ATK) stratagem? Hmmm *scratches beard*. Dolchiate Remembrancer
If proxies are aloud, I would recommend trying the army of death formation. It was a lot of fun having 3 death company squads all with power fists and jump packs led by astorath, lemartes and a reclusiarch! Morticon
Vanguard for sure!!!! Dante and a big load of DC is also suitably scary! Ushtarador
I hope you own a lot of jumpers, because vanguard vets with melta bombs are awesome in apoc ;D Flying monstrous creature is awesome for mephi because it gives him AP2, but I wouldn't bother with the relic weapon. Personally, I like the shield generator a lot, it protects your valuable stuff for a whole turn. Jolemai
Boooo. Mephiston will have to defer Warlord duties to Angron :/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285975-blood-angels-specific-apocalypse-advice/#findComment-3580551 Share on other sites
Jolemai
I'm also ruing the fact that I didn't buy a Fellblade last month. My side doesn't have any super heavies, my opponent has two... As far as proxies go, we're not allowed to take them and can only take painted stuff. Other than some Death Company, I don't own anything painted with Jump Packs... Basic list looks like this: Mephiston Librarian Librarian Reclusiarch Astorath Honour Guard Corbulo Sanguinary Priest Furioso Dreadnought Lemartes Death Company Death Company Death Company Assault Squad Assault Squad Tactical Squad Tactical Squad Scout Squad Scout Squad Attack Bike Devastator Squad Stormraven Whirlwind Dreadnought Calidus Assassin Vindicare Assassin Also have two Rhinos, two Razorbacks and a Drop Pod to share out. Thinking of doing the following: • Shield Stratagem • C:BA powers on one Librarian that rides with the tanks • Divination, etc, on one Librarian that sits with the Tacticals, Devs, Scouts behind an ADL/in cover • One Tactical Squad is full of Plasma. Will Drop Pod this in near the Havocs (or other juicier target) • Furioso has Talons, will arrive by Stormraven with an Assault Squad • Might Outflank my combat Scouts, Attack Bike and leave a squad of DC in reserve • Calidus maybe to crew the Bastion's Icarus Lascannon? • Maybe upgrade all my RAS to VAS for a full spread of Melta Bombs and an extra ATK/LDR Decisions, decisions Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285975-blood-angels-specific-apocalypse-advice/#findComment-3580586 Share on other sites
