TOTRS Raven Guard, VOW III complete

Welcome, welcome one and all.

To the(as the title suggests) the slowest plog in all the known warp.

it will be documenting my progress into the heresy. 

i will be creating to strike forces one of raven guard assault squads and the other of iron warriors terminators.

backgrounds to the forces will be incoming within a few days.

I apologise in advance for the horrendous quality of photos, paint and (when it rears its ugly head) my lore writing skills.

Tomorrow evening i will hopefully get access to my camera I will take some better photos.

But enough text. onto the pictures:

@ thamier: That in the background dear sir was a leaving gift to me from one of my teachers in junior school and is a framed copy of the original pokemon guide.

 

@ rune priest rhapsody: you guessed right. I highly recommend the kit. Lots of extra awesome gubbins on the frames.

Wow pokemon wallpaper. See something new everday! The sergeant looks good from what I can see. Probably going to have to get that box for some kitbashes down the road too. Can't tell much from the last picture though.

Edit: Just checked them out and they'd make great trophies. :P

Looks great so far, although I echo the sentiment that the pictures could be better. I am gathering from the sergeant missing arm that these may be from the aftermath of, or during Istvaan V? If so, I hope that that gruesome injury can be graciously claimed by the IV Artillery? Great start!

I will upload some better pictures tomorrow afternoon on ny half day off. Hopefully the light box I made this evening will improve picture quality as well as my new light-bulb.

 

@ pyromancer unfortunatelly not. My dudes are set before the heresy and the iron warriors are still loyal.

Well he is still pretty awesome. And just because the Iron Warriors remain loyal, doesn't mean that they wouldn't fire upon their brothers position if it meant victory.

There is a little image icon on the option board when you are posting, located to the left of the unlink button. It looks like a little picture of clouds with a blue bar above it. Click on it and copy the link into the space labelled URL. 

 

The new pictures really showcase your talents nicely. I haven't seen many Raven Guard HH armies, and yours is certainly setting the bar high.

So today I've only got a few questions (pics will be tomorrow). I seem to have hit a block with my raven guard. I had the pa preator all lined up as a leader for them got 90% of the paint job done and decided I didn't like him. While the model itself is great it just didn't click for me. And then foreword released the mk 2 & 3 command squads. What I plan to do is take the helmet and arms (hammer) from the mk 2 squad and mesh them with the legion champion body and a jetpack. Do you think this could work? Any thoughts/improvements that anyone could make on this I would love to hear.


Also what do you think of the Ideas I had for my homegrown lore (fluff is such a ridiculous term) : a combined force of nightlords and iron warriors had been sent to bring a renegade world back under compliance. When they were unable to do so a raven guard shadow force was sent to "assist" them. As the iron warriors finally breached the fortress of the planetary governor (with the use of newly made tda ande oribatal bombardments) the nightlord and raven guard jet pack equipped squads stream through the breach and made short work of the exposed defenders.
