Brother_Bethor
Inspiration, you say? How 'bout this? http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/brother_bethor/Operation%20Challange/Bethor_40.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/brother_bethor/Operation%20Challange/weterani_wip007.jpg I'm sorry for crappy pics but ATM I don't have any decent camera. Maybe when I'll be doing another ETL4 wip shooting with borrowed camera I'll do them again. Stoic Raptor
That DA reminds me of one of my first multipose beakies from the RT kit. He was crouching in a very active pose, pistol across his shoulder and knife behind his back like he was ready to spring into a fight. I always enjoy active poses that indicate motion. Epher
Yeah, those look great. The beak marine looks awesome with the sword swinging. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286393-brother_bethors-log-etl-v/page/2/#findComment-4067536 Share on other sites
Brother_Bethor
Thanks guys. Posing models is what I like the most. I could go with it like forever. Now, it is time to present my vow for this year' E Tenebrae Lux challenge. I plan small because I want to paint the model to my best ability and actually finish it in time. I'm going to paint a librarian on bike. A this moment it is missing some components (i.e. melta bombs, some pouches). I hope to get them soon. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/brother_bethor/Bolter%20and%20Chainsword/e8a66d0d-f273-43e9-b484-deeaf0c285ed_zpsxwyrvnhk.jpg In the pipeline there is another biker model, classic chaplain on bike, but I don't know if I'll have enough time left to make another vow. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/brother_bethor/Bolter%20and%20Chainsword/d721aed9-8309-4afa-ac8d-f3d55e035d49_zpsxtwfny14.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286393-brother_bethors-log-etl-v/page/2/#findComment-4395428 Share on other sites
Brother_Bethor
Hello brothers! I've got my ordered parts and they have been installed. Also I've done some scratchbuilding. It isn't a masterclass at any lenght but will do. I didn't feel like sculpting a leather-bound spell book (do librarians even use them at all?). The model is full WYSIWYG now - the Shroud of heroes could be kept inside the box on the front wheel or be a part of the robe (which is a sign of higher status in chapter Librarius - normally I would paint a rank badge on the tabard but in this case there isn't one). Right now biker codicier is drying from being washed in dishwash solution. Hope to basecoat it soon. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/brother_bethor/Bolter%20and%20Chainsword/IMG_20160522_230249_zps1fjklafc.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/brother_bethor/Bolter%20and%20Chainsword/IMG_20160522_230310_zpszutx57a8.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/brother_bethor/Bolter%20and%20Chainsword/IMG_20160522_230518_zpskvgkt8vo.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286393-brother_bethors-log-etl-v/page/2/#findComment-4402312 Share on other sites
Brother_Bethor
The bike librarian has been basecoated and its base is complete. Surely it will need some patching up in the future but for now it is done. Now I'm at stage 2 - the biker and his ride. Hope to show more soon. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/brother_bethor/Bolter%20and%20Chainsword/IMG_20160607_151334_zpsqamih8c7.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286393-brother_bethors-log-etl-v/page/2/#findComment-4413867 Share on other sites
Brother_Bethor
Lostrael (your work is truly amazing!) and other brothers definitely have spurred me to put even more work into my ETL V vow (not that I've planned to enter with some work). As of now, the librarian looks like this: WIP no. 4 http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/brother_bethor/Bolter%20and%20Chainsword/IMG_20160619_233342a_zps9tfxtq7o.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/brother_bethor/Bolter%20and%20Chainsword/IMG_20160619_233408a_zpsxie3hwxw.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/brother_bethor/Bolter%20and%20Chainsword/IMG_20160619_233515a_zpshtgok7yt.jpg Feathers on bike's fairing and hussar's wing are done, as is gold trimming except one part above the headlamp - I didn't noticed it. Bolters need only one or two final layers of highlight. The rider's armour got only some blacklining. I haven't highlighted it yet despite what can be seen on this photos. Lostrael
I'm looking forward to see him finished. You are going for a red sword? Will you add some force effects to it? Brother_Bethor
Yep, my power weapons are blue and force weapons are red. I'm going for a "glass" effect like on ie. your cataphract terminator from page 2 of your plog . Surprisingly it has a Grey Knight power weapon just like my librarian but that is pure coincidence. I just wanted to differentiate force sword from my other power weapons.
