Spaced Hulk
Awesome Blood Angels mate! Heathens wrote a very evocative description of the 9th in the 'Memoriam' thread (which I've spoilered below), and your models are almost like a visual representation of that image. Excellent work! A split second before the Blood Angels hit the shield wall, the center Breachers stepped back and swung in, like the gates of a fortress, letting the Angels rush past. Biehn saw his foe for the first time: the CVIII Azvarian Assault, known as The Heaven's Blades. Respected and feared for their bladework and close-quarters capabilities, their plate covered in intricate frescos, and delicate inscriptions and sculptures inlaid with gold leaf and priceless jewels. Their weapons matched in beauty, all silver plated tulwars, scimitars, and sosun pattahs with jewel studded golden pommels and crossguards, corded in rich red and blue silks. Magnificent warriors, all. For a moment, Biehn almost felt bad for the suffering that he and his brethren were about to unleash upon them. Almost. And just to concur with everybody else, the better photos really do so much more justice to some great models and painting Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287183-jaspcats-official-workspace-its-arrived/page/14/#findComment-3644932 Share on other sites
GhostMalone
Battle of Urban Sprawl 1 World Eaters; LaCroix HQ 1 Legion Champion ELITES 8 Rampager Squad 1 contemptor Dreadnought 1 apothecary TROOPS 15 tactical squad 10 breachers 8 assault Heavy Support 1 Prdator Death Guard Alliance; Jaspcat HQ Librarian 5 Honourguard ELITES 10 Veteran Tacticals 5 Deathshroud TROOPS 10 Tactical w/Rhino 10 tactical w/rhino HEAVY SUPPORT 6 Heavy Volkite Culvern 6 Heavy Flamers http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zpsbe321701.jpg So to start off I can safely say I need a lot of practice and Lacroix is definitely a better gamer than myself, so simply put it was a basic game of annihilating each other. no objectives no missions just a chance to familiarise ourselves with the rules. http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps32f6c058.jpg table end to table end with enough cover for each of us to get close without being shot to death. TURN ONE Shall we run, yes we shall pretty simple in all honesty all either of us could do was charge up the flanks and try manoeuvre around buildings to try stay out of the heavy guns. http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zpsdd4ed7b5.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zpsab795000.jpg Damn Larry is sexy http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zpsc3cdcc62.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps3096ba3c.jpg as you can tell my camera is :cuss. Lacroix got way way better photos but they are his so im sorry. http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zpse95e9d03.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zpsed1cfade.jpg so really all we did is charge up the guts. TURN TWO so with turn two we moved in closer hugging the buildings still hoping that this turn we could charge into a good old fashioned street brawl. turn two also bought my veteran squad from reserve using outflank, stupidly I thought id try take on 15 tacticals and a predator. ever rolled 1's with meltas. constantly screws me over. inflicted a hull point on the predator and the culverns snap shot at the tacticals killing 2 http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps81c343c4.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zpse06a175a.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps03a033c0.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zpsa376a6ae.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zpsfaf0db72.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zpsc66e2d8f.jpg TURN THREE http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps0450d309.jpg turn three bought about the use of my pyromaniac abilities, casting flame shield and spontaneous combustion proved a deterrent to LaCroix and his assault marines from charging, the Rampagers decided that the Death shroud were going to be fun to try and take on. Larry the contemptor jumped out from behind a building and charged my Heavy Flamers. I actually pooped myself because I forgot he was there. Volkites managed to take another 6 Tacticals to the grave, whilst the tacticals opened fury of the legion upon my veterans and left me with 4. The predator attacked rhino 1 and tac squad 1 killing 2 legionaries. http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps8dade798.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zpsb4dff725.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps42bfe440.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zpseb8ccd49.jpg the death shroud took 3 wounds and slayed 6 Rampagers. LaCroix was happy and pissed at the same time. TURN FOUR turn four was a pretty good fight, the Breachers moved up and supported the assault squad to whittle down my second tactical squad. whilst the first tactical squad and volkites took the 15 man tac squad down to just the apothecary. the WE champion finished off the vet squad whilst the predator whittled my first tac squad down in strength. http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps71175f8f.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps1f38d225.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps65186e62.jpg Turn four ended with me finishing of the Rampagers and the contemptor slaughtering my heavy flamers. I decided to consolidate into charge range of the contemptor. TURN FIVE With the final turn upon us I made the worst rookie mistake possible. I charged a contemptor with STR6 Weapons forgetting that walkers always get struck in CC on front armour. http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps5d7e09bc.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps02ff9358.jpg I was left with 2 death shroud and was losing the combat against the assault marines and Breachers. but with a constant backing of successful casts of spontaneous combustion and flame shield I was able to whittle them down until turn 5 where I failed every leadership test http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps168388f2.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps11a31f46.jpg so the final result from casualties shows that we were pretty evenly matched. it wasn't a bad game but a refinement of rules is necessary. infyrana
Great to see the battle report up ! So what things did you both learn from your game? I'm guessing that Meltabombs on the Deathshroud would have been helpful. Did you use the hand flamers, and was that meant to be STR 5 weapons on the scythes? How did you like the Heavy Support Culverins and their deflagrate rule? Was the command/honour squad worth bothering with, or was the WE champion just 'that good' ? :D Larry sounds like he's going to have a fine future ahead of him... does he have your blessing of the greater magnet-mechanicus for his arm options? LaCroix
the Heavy Support Culverins were pretty impressive buy the end they wiped out the unit of 15 tacticals well poor armor saves didnt help still so many shot. the WE champion was impressive even more so if he was against something that didnt have power armour. GhostMalone
RED! Man thats a tasty red, just awesome thanks mate means heaps to hear from one of my favourite resident night lords I could have sworn that I had commented here earlier on... That aside, your progression is nothing short of stunning. Your painting is far cleaner than it was a few months back and the amount of goodness you've managed to cram into your budding army is inspirational. I'm loving it, Jasp, damn well loving it. Keep it up and I'll be a happy man Thanks BBL it is in part thanks to LaCroix and also to the supportive criticism from yourself and all the veteran brothers on here, hopefully youll be jumping ship soon once the ol' personal real world stuff settles. I miss your work and we need to get another tale of x gamers on. And just to concur with everybody else, the better photos really do so much more justice to some great models and painting thanks SH heathens is a inspirational writer and deffinately has helped spark the old imagination many times. I want my BA to be pretty Looks like fun! I cannot wait to get into it with heathens! BTW, again, I love your Blood Angels, that red is so sexay! thanks mate, I hope you appreciate how lucky you are having the presence of the heathens in your games. damn bastards in Alaska get all the fun. my rampagers did what i expected them to do it was just your cursed green dice that let me down! lol rampagers vs deathshroud wasnt a smart move on my part but it was in character. Larry the Contemptor was the man of the match in my books. hid behind a building moved out flamed your heavy flamer unit and then charged. sneaky larry the rampagers need more fleshbane, that :cuss is dangerous. yeah the GW DG dice are rigged next time I think they stay at home. rolled more 6s that game then ever before Great to see the battle report up ! Larry sounds like he's going to have a fine future ahead of him... does he have your blessing of the greater magnet-mechanicus for his arm options? I learnt 5 pts is all the difference, command honour guard did nothing as I just used them to protect the librarian. culverns put out 20 shots from the small squad and im easily able to kill 3 or 4 tacs a round, if I build them up to 10 man squad they will be seriously a good threat from overwhelming FP. master of signal +1 to BS also would hurt the Heavy Support Culverins were pretty impressive buy the end they wiped out the unit of 15 tacticals well poor armor saves didnt help still so many shot. the WE champion was impressive even more so if he was against something that didnt have power armour. GhostMalone
A couple of little issues needed the hair dryer on the side lengths, the generator was mis cast so needs a little liquid GS And my fiancé got home and dropped the turret hatch which snapped of the sprue and took a little chip out of the turret, so will need a bit of GS to fill and shape. The front track sections are a bit shrunk but I'll make them line up. So tomorrow I'll do some more work on it. GhostMalone
So tonight I managed to finish one side of the tracks, my biggest issue is that it's hard to get them lined up with the baneblade tracks. Had to pin the final piece as it really just stays suspended and doesn't lock into the resin side. Another issue is minor gap filling not massive but I'll start that soon. Tomorrow I'll get some glue and try finish the tank. Also noticed that the rhino upgrade kit is actually like finecast and not resin. Has anyone else received similar? Also managed to get the track gap closed. http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps571d7152.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps4ec4818e.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zps624671c9.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/image_zpsa0540d52.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287183-jaspcats-official-workspace-its-arrived/page/14/#findComment-3646497 Share on other sites
