Yeah I know but I stuffed up the GS and that was a quick fix.

he will be remade at a later stage but I need to try get this stuff done quickly for April 5th.

liquid green stuff bro, you can dilute it with water. that may help you. If its "stuffed up" really bad just leave it then lol.

I'm not sure it does, Im still using a batch of GS I bought like 4 years ago, it still semms to work just fine. But then agian, i think it depends on what temperatures it is exposed to over its lifetime. Higher temperatures may degrade it faster.

in that case yes, it will degrade rapidly, put it in the fridge when not being used. Don't worry, it will warm up fast at 45C. It will keep your fun puddy alive longer.

I've only ever painted a single blood angel, so I am about as far from an expert on their colors as possible.

 

But I say the darker wine red makes them look much more serious, and less giant targets.

 

I used Khorne Red darkened with a black ink, followed by khorne red area highlights and a very tiny wazdakka red edge highlight. Then prodigiously matted down with Carroburg crimson. Looked pretty good.

the old red gore i used for flesh tearers...army painter dragon red is a nice blood angel red. nice and rich

Yep, I support the darker red. It makes them look more like BLOOD Angels, than the bright red "we will kill you with our shiny armour" look. I painted mine with red gore back in the day.

I like the almost orange "blood angels of old" partially because im a nostalgia whore, and partly just to be different. Also i think if you went with a lighter red, you could really make your models pop by doing some great detail work in gold to compliment this. Black would also stand out stronger if you so chose it to be a secondary color.

I'm in the darker red boat personally.

I use Khorne red (I think, whatever red gore was..)

Give it a fairly heavy sepia wash, then gently highlight back up with khorne red right up to 25/75 khorne - mephiston.

Looks really gritty and dark.

 

As far as the chest with the crazy wings of doom, if you can't be bothered with extra GS, why not give him an ablative layer of plate armour with some thin plastic card? That way it can be rough - you can just weather it.

But I had a good day at the new GW store putting my cousin & his friend through their first 40k game. With the help of Britain it was a pretty smooth game.

The librarian and his squad are badass! It's a shame about the other guy's torso, although I'm sure you'll find a way to make it work ;)

 

Personally I'd agree with a wine red, it's a more refined color for a more refined legion.

Those blood angels are full of character - I like a lot. Look forward to a painted example, esp based on your previous... is there a legion you haven't painted Jason?! I'd also err on the side of a deep dark red; bit more threatening. Tomahawks sound like an awesome idea!

 

Speaking of fellblades, whatever happened to that titan??

I think I found a happy red
