Well, it's all I have built so far anyway with the FW Khorne Termies. Next time you see them they will be sans mold lines and have the weapons drilled. Maybe. Hard to see, but I am using Sigmar Khornate axes with these, though I also want to build another two with twin lightning claws as they look cool. Colour scheme will be black ofc, though I may add a few red Daemon faces as per the Chosen.

Thanks Sgt, we both couldn't believe it really! Part of the 'fun' of Chaos I guess :D The table is really great and always makes a good back drop, and his armies are something else too. Always a good game too :tu:

Cheers Bio, the orange power weapon is indeed the plan to try to keep a fairly uniform scheme (save for special snowflakes like Abaddon etc) but I am not sure if it will transfer well on the Blood Warrior axes. I am thinking (see the Champion) of having the energy discharge originating from that half Khorne rune, but we shall see. Half of me wants to paint them metallic cover them in blood/guts/offal, but that is what the chain bayonets are for I guess! As said, I am also thinking of some red hued Daemonic faces here and there, like the Chosen, but the greenstuff will have to come out for that.

This one is based on the ever versatile Chaos Lord kit. I have loads knocking round as it's such a great kit, so I thought I would knock one out (relatively) as is. In game however, he will usually be playing the role of 'Champion' in the Warmasters retinue. Judging by the current rumours doing the rounds, Abaddon's bodyguard need to do a better job!!

The Champ looks great, I've never actually been a fan of that helmet but your colour scheme really makes it. Love the rust on the trophy poles and the Combi-plas and power axe are awesome as always mate :tu:

I think I went a bit heavy on some of the rust, nothing a good wipe won't sort however and he hasn't been sealed yet.

 

RE Abaddon, I am sure it will all work itself out, though it is a little worrying as this whole army was based around him really but we shall see......

 

In other news I have entered the GBBO in the Blood Angel forum with a conversion based on Garviel Loken to complete the FW diorama that Abaddon is from, so keep your eyes peeled over there and on my Flesh Eaters log.

Terminator's looking excellent, mate! Looking at your Abaddon and retinue makes me think you should build a dedicated model for Falkus Kibre -- after all, he's still around by the 41st millennium, at least judging by his appearance in the Night Lords trilogy.

 

Speaking of which, regarding the rumours surrounding Abbadon's possible death: If that were true, I wonder why they have ADB put so much work into explaining Abaddon and turning him into a more rounded character? I mean, ADB has made some excellent points - on this forum, no less - about how the entire point of Abaddon's crusades is to win while mortal (and on his own conditions). To kill him off/elevate him to Daemon Prince status now would be really lame, unless they pull off one heck of a narrative, and given the current quality of GW's current lore writing, I don't exactly have high hopes... ;)

Thanks man, I do intend doing a Falkus, though that will require some sexy FW Justeraen me thinks :tu: these guys are purely from a gaming point of view, though I have really enjoyed painting them - the Termies get a bad rep but I think the kit is not as bad as most people claim.

 

RE Abaddon; I am with you in hoping for some good writing but not expecting it. Even him ascending to Daemonhood, which goes totally against his character, could be written well. Though for it to be believable at all would take something special. We shall see, though if he is just killed off the surely that will be the end of the Black Legion too.....Losing Urkanthos to Daemonhood and now Abaddon to death/dark apotheosis, I am like the kiss of death. Lock up your Chaos Lords!!

Cheers Bio :tu: though this Chaplain will be a straight up Blood Angel, Reclusiarch Jorus who made a valiant last stand against Abaddon on Mackan in single combat. As I 40k'd the Warmaster up, then converting Loken to Jorus seemed a good way to make use of the excellent diorama :)

Your BL as well as the current Fall of Cadia etc has me really thinking about starting up my Black legion again. I'm at least planning to build an Abbadon similar to my Malek Deimos model but obviously more recognisable as Abby, and a unit of Bringers of Despair. I'm holding off for now though as if there are any new CSM kits released I'll probably have a go with them. I'd also like to have a crack at a Daemon Prince version of Urkanthos. Anyway I'm thinking out loud now, :p

Been a bit quiet of late - for that I apologise as what little hobby time I have had over recent months I have been building and painting a Goliath Gang for Necromunda. As you can see, even though it is only small, WE HAVE AN UPDATE!! The above Sorcerer is being entered in the Chaos Forum event "Diu ad Belli". I only have the one photo at the minute, and that has shown up that I need a bit of green stuff to join his tube/facemask and the odd mold line.

 

General premise is he was just thrown together with a load of random left over bitz, the pose hopefully mid-conjuring-hellfire-whilst-looking-suitably-evil. Also note the floating book, idea stolen from then new Exalted Sorcerers on Tzeentch Discs. Hope you like, more soon *looks at Khorne Terminators*

I have mate, is that the one where he and his mate get a bollocking from Abaddon? (The prequel to the Khârn story) I still haven't got round to painting my 'on foot' version yet, but this new edition may give me an opportunity as even base Lords allow their minions to reroll 1's now. Got to make up for that loss of the AoBF somehow!
