I was actually thinking something similar helter!  I really enjoyed putting this guy into motion!

Glad you like death, he was a joy to bring to life!  He fits the fluff of my army, I would say he was a prior headmaster in a Terror Squad, the most infamous and famous of them in the 37th Chapter.  ;)

Here he is, Gerlach, Captain of the 9th Company, 37th Chapter "The Shadow Sworn", VIII Legion

Known as "The Wraith," he is the current Captain of the 9th Company. His deep understanding of the tactics and techniques required for PsyOps led to his captaincy. An Astartes of few words, he is an adept hand to hand fighter and a terrifying presence.

His artificer armor is decorated with the bones of his foes. His right kneepad has a fanged skull Right pauldron is honored with the VIII Legion, and his left is emblazoned with the Legions symbol. The ancient murder blade's scabbard on his waist has a lone wing decorating it.

Rules for him?

Hope the sense of motion is nice, I love it!

Just need to add a few more putty decorations and a chain or two!

That Captain is crazy, just batscensored.gif crazy. My bitterness and jealous hatred of your modelling skills is so thick you could forge it into a unbreakable blade with which I would slay you as you slept and eat your heart to steal the aforementioned skills. devil.gif

The only thing I can think of that could possibly make him better is maybe if you were to add a cloak of some sort (Simple ragged cloth? Nostraman Crag Cougar pelt? Flayed skin? Chains? So many ideas...) flapping out behind him as he lurges forward to gut his prey.

Naw, man, just follow this tutorial. It worked like a charm for my Crimson Son.

...Yeah, I painted a VIII Legionnaire. Sue me.

Lol funny, my name is at the last post on that thread I think! I may have to give it a go and see how it works out for me. But part o me likes him with no cloak lol

And thanks Tavrik, I am extremely happy he is making a small splash with other NL lovers!

Do you even know what Legion I play? There's always room for artillery.

Omg, that is ridiculous!  May have to use RoW that puts Night Fighting into effect for the first turn and possibly for future turns.  Geez, ok ok.  I see how the IWs roll...  I am still going to do my best to cut you down and turn your body into ornamentation!

THAT'S HOW IRON WARRIORS ROLL.

Found my IW escalation list.

Omg did my WIP thread turn into a fanboy thread for IWs? Lol! Love the banter though! Will be looking to file and clean my heavy support squad this week if I can get the time in, maybe have them ready for the ETL vow! One can only hope!

Just spray them with water they rust easy.

You need to get past their artillery barrage first.

@Armond- impressive stuff here. I especially like the idea behind the hour glass. Its more subtle than a skull while still conveying the same message.

Btw, is the putty you are using better than green stuff?

Thanks much! Glad you enjoy! I do like the brown putty from P3, works great and is pretty easy to manipulate.

I just got a set of Terror Squad torsos and heads... Deciding how I want to do this. Thinking of making the five raptors from 40k i have into raptors for this army. The bits are decent and just need to get cleaned up and remove the chaos bits.

Sergeant for the Heavy Support Squad.  Note the different helmet.  No added putty work yet, haven't decided what I want to do.

If you haven't already noticed.  Every Sergeant in all my squads so far carry that same backpack.  It serves as a live feed for the Master of Signal, who directly reports to the Company Captain.  This allows for the commander to make decisions based on up to date information in the field of battle.  This proves especially important when conducting a multi-faceted attack plan which requires proper placement of several units.  Enjoy!  C&C welcome.

Again, he is not done, this is just the basic set up.  I  may just end up making a unit of 5 for now and use the other 5 MkIII tactical bodies I have to churn out more to fill my tactical squads.  Still deciding though!

Great to see you getting this all together Armond. That Praetor's looking great.

They roll 100 points over? Tac squads are 150 base =p

Oh yes... Bits to play with and see what I can come up with. I see some pressmold material... msn-wink.gif

Pressmold? You really should look into making rubber molds and resin casting your own sculpts. Your own sculpting work certainly look good enough to duplicate for future use. I honestly think that your stuff looks much better than the Night Raptors sculpts. I'm really looking forward to seeing some paint on your marines and hopefully some battle report photos of your games with Heathens' IW.

But all of my work is based off of the models done by FW, the only thing that I can call my own are a few of the putty sculpts I did. Or are you referring to the Raptor rePose I did? I hate the dancing/hopping raptor models. Believe me, all the raptors will be adjusted.

But honestly, I am looking to do a ten man terror squad since I just got those bits. I can do some custom helmet work and see what I can come up with. Should be tons of fun!

What a great thread. Had never been keen on the raptor minis, not a big fan of the flayed skin covering the armour, but seeing what you have done with them I may have to reconsider my choice not to buy any! The Helmet for that heavy support serg is cool. What kit is it from?

Hey thanks secret! I think it is a breacher marine helmet. It was a bit I ordered to add a little diversity into the army. I would think that the Legions were. It cookie cutter, especially after being reunited with their Primarch. That is the reason for a little hangs for the sergeants and even some of the marines string some type of "honor markings," let's face it, most Night Lords are anything but honorable. ;). That raptor kit is decent, I just cut what I wanted from it and used a few spare bits I had to give me the chance to add a little diversity.

Thanks flint! I hope to get the heavy support squad ready to be in my vow! But still debating on making ten of them or going with five so I can ensure I fill my tacticals up to 15 each. Choices. Plus I had enough bits to make 5 more guys who may end up being the start of my terror squad! Woot!
