Working on the bases for the Dreadclaws and Kharybdis

The Flesh is Weak!

So I started applying the basecolors:

I went for much bigger brass parts then first anticipated, the turret is basicly all brass. But I think this is a nice tie in to the brass scorpion and shows nicly the connection to the forges of Sarum.

Next step will be decals and then the oil wash.

This definitely deserves an MDRC Seal of Approval. It's poom doing a Glaive. What's not to like? :D

Dude love the brass on the top turret section, your world eaters have a surgical feel to them!

Any chance on more blue for the spot colour?

I hold back on the blue parts in fear for the model to be to colorfull. With the base color beeing white and accent colors blue, red and bronze I already have 4 colors plus metals. Also I like that on the secondary colors the bronze dominates, instead of the blue like it does on the other vehicles. This is to show the technical marvel this tank represents and for that how close it is to the forges of Sarum. This will also be shown on the decals, wher there will be only a view World Eater symbols and many of the Mechanicum.

Instead of blue why not red? Like the awesome World Eaters in Book 6?

But then poom wouldn't have a reason to start a new mid heresy force

Hehe, starting a new mid or more like late heresy force is something that actually is spinning around in my head since book 6 came out. This would be also a nice fresh start to implement some new painting technices like airbrush stuff.. building the same army over so many years is kinda holding you back in learning new stuff because you want to keep a coherent look over old and new models.

I'm squeeeing with anticipation.

How do you get your bronze and apologies if this was answered somewhere in the previous 22 pages of maddeningly sexy models!

No worries! Basecolor is Warplock Bronze, than drybrush one after the other, Dwarf Bronze, Gamecolor Glorous Gold and at the end a little bit of Runfang steel. On the mechanicum I archieved a darker look by brushing less Glourious Gold and adding a thinned down wash of Army Painter Dark Tone.

*snip*

Iron Hand kills claimed by the third Legion.

Executed Lancer pilot. Rumors say Petruarbo himself brought that knight down.

Thanks!

Where in all that is holy, did you get the wrecked rhino??

The other 2 look like Primarch bases (Fulgrim & Perturabo)

I build the wreck last year myselfe:

http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288089-but-blood-blood-is-forever/?p=4082314

I used casts of it for the wrecks seen on the previus page and on some bases.

Exexpt maybe two marines the casualtys are all from character series modells like Khârn, Angron, Vulkan and Fulgrim. On many I used legionspecific bits.. especially from Iron Hands I had many spare bits from conversions.

So in preparation for the ETL I startet to build mechanicum again:

http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/IMG_20160414_104523.jpg

Thallax with bulky Lightning Guns, similar to the Las-Locks from Tech-Thralls.

Also I startet on Scyllax and 30 Tech-Thralls blink.png

As for the Scyllax....

http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/IMG_20160415_105027_2.jpg

I wanted them to be robo-raptors, now with all the bits on the model, they look more like crazy space rats http://heresy30k.invisionzone.com/public/style_emoticons/default/blink.png

The conversion is based on some Scyllax Tim from the Eye of Horus Podcast did recently. Basicly it is a Scyllax body with GW Ruststalker legs.

There will be a magnet on the back to add Deathrays or Rotorcannons.

Like the velociraptor (I think), use a bigger claw for the thumb joint and maybe some bigger claws on the feet, may help take away the look of robo-rat.

The skulls look cool, are they from the skeleton horses? Maybe slightly bulkier skulls would help?  Use Saurus heads and paint the flesh to look like metallic scales, even smooth some of the flesh away and paint it like a metal skull (like in the terminator movies) remove some of the eyes and kitbash some bionics?
