2014 For the Sororitas

KD's models are all molded in singular mono-poses. GW's multipart kits that need to fit together in multiple poses, with pieces fitting together across the whole range, are a lot harder to produce then the comparison gives them credit for.

Detailing on the sculpts aside, the differences between the pinup versions of the KD aesthetic and normal versions of the same models is pretty negligible, mostly coming down to the sexiness of the pose itself. But then, armor in general is scarce in their aesthetic. Not to sound like a prude, and I'm not bashing KD exactly, I know little about it. But as someone who really wants plastic Sisters, I'd rather they don't look like that.

I do like the female Link model though.

Those models are nice looking but I would probably end up using them with a fantasy army. Just a little weigh in here, everyone has had some really cool ideas floating around. Why don't we put the ideas together and play test some of them. I would love a drop pod for pentinents, an opened top vehicle for repentia(the four wheel buggies on FW site may be a good suggestion) , maybe create a unit of termie type suits. If a lot of people pushed for it it could happen. And I'm just a player not a cheer section.

Someone is still going to yell at me, but at least it won't be for the other style of raging heroes smile.png.

Google:

Alter in eculeum retinet tormenta

Drop "in" since it is not needed and give the subject and object their typical endings -- I am probably off here:

Alter eculeus retinet tormentos

Arange as object, verb, subject since the subject is really the punchline:

tormentos retinet alter eculeus

So my new Raging Heroes inspired motto for the Sisters of Battle is:

TORMENTOS RETINET ALTER ECULEUS

or:

My other rack holds guns.

Despite what the internet tells me I firmly believe that Sisters are coming. We've had two chances for GW to kill Sisters in the last three years, and 3 chances total (4th, 5th and 6th) and yet they chose to update their rules in both 5th and 6th. They have also expressed, in public in front of a large group of witnesses, at the "Into the Citadel" event a strong desire to update the army but issues with casting were holding them back in the past. There has been no word that is still the case but the following can be certain:

1. The Studio wants to update the army

2. They have a very clear vision for what they want to do with the army, hence why casting issues have held the army back

3. Despite what the internet keeps saying they aren't gone yet.

I also have a theory for the most likely time for Sisters to get released (anyone who pokes around Dakka should recognize this one): the best time for Sisters to see a full model release is in the holiday season between September and December and the release will likely be paired with a "sure thing" army, like one of the Marine armies, in the same quarter to help ensure that the quarter doesn't lag. There are 3 factors that play into this: 1) that half of the year is early into GW's fiscal year and still lets them react if sales lag without dragging down the company's annual financial statements, 2) the holiday season (save for this last one which was bad for all companies pretty much everywhere) can also help prop up sales as that is traditionally the highest part of the year for all merchandising companies, 3) Marines (or another strong sales army) can help pick up any slack Sisters leave in the quarter.

Now I won't claim that it's this year, but if it they aren't out in 2014, then I'll be expecting them in late 2015 personally as if they can maintain this rate we'll be seeing the last of the codexes next year. But that's just my faith speaking.

Probably plenty of time to get that job! I'm pretty busy with other armies and the like (lingering repaint plans aside) so likewise I'm not too bothered with a bit of a wait. Kind of used to it now anyway, but I'd be happy not to :P

As far as new stuff in codex wishing goes, I would have been happy with access to special bolter rounds available as a squad upgrade for all.  It wouldn't even require any new models!

Also, if she wants sisters tell her to go for it!  I started picking up a sister here and there from ebay about a year ago and i've got a nice sized army now without breaking the bank.  The models are never going to get cheaper, and they will become more expensive as more time goes by.

I currently have access to a 3D printer. You'd need to wildly invest in a expensive model to make producing miniatures a viable option. They are great for larger things, such as a turret mount, building debris, bases, guns on a tank, etc. But when you get into the tiny details on an actual figure, they fall short. They just don't have the resolution to match the tiny objects that adorn all our models. A small chain around a sisters neck holding an inquisition symbol for example...that would be impossible to replicate at current tech levels. The melted strand of plastic is thicker then the chain.

For those wondering, I use a solid doodle 3.

>> They're Ecclesiarchy symbols, not Inquisition. The two are just irritatingly similar.

Dunno, if we were additively fabricating our own figures we might have some fluff blurb about semi-perminant secondment to an inquisitorial detachment and such an Icon as a service badge?
