I spy a red beret! :D It's easier to spot mould lines after you've finished, it's simple enough to attack them with a knife and touch up the paint I've done it a few times - just make sure you do it before applying the wash :)

The 171st won't be wanting for special weapons - I really want to go and paint some troopers now, last time was Semper's Heroes I think!

Thanks for the comments.

The remaining Cadian infantry to paint are rank and file lasgun troops, a couple of sgts and lt's and some heavy weapons.

O and 3 ogryn, some Stormtroopers, and some Death company that I found.

Washes or not, I still prefer painted models over a grey mass on the other side of the table.

Without the wash they still look good. And as you and others have said, with some wash added, they will transform into something great.

Mould lines... brr brr... I shall hold my self from saying anything about that issue. ;)

Thanks Vash. It just started getting depressing going "no not that black one, that one there has the special." Plus it sorts the force out.

And as for mould lines, I have never once gone as far as to sort them out unless they are that overpowering. I am afraid 99% of my force would probably offend for that.

Nice work on the Special Weapons, (and the badass Commissar a couple of pages back that I missed!) I agree that Washes are a gift from the Emperor himself, (one of the people at my local refers to them as "liquid talent," and she's an awesome painter.)

My personal favourites are Seraphim Sepia, Agrax Earthshade and Nuln Oil. Seraphim's handy for my desert tan colour scheme, Nuln Oil is essential for shading metals and the like, and Agrax Earthshade works really well with Nuln Oil for when you want metals to look more grimy and oily rather than well-oiled and maintained.

Don't even get me started on the virtues of Typhus Corrosion and Lamian Medium, though! :P

Thanks for the kind words Coffee. I am quite proud of the commissar though i don't use them often.

I have used Washes before but until i get hold of the illustrious Agrax Earthshade and Nuln oil, i will wait so as not to spoil the models.

The corrosion is great and combined with ryza rust works too.

Good news! The wife and kids have done me well today.

The Baneblade is back in my possession after it got wrapped for safe transportation. Also, I have some reading to inspire me to greater good.

Good news for the painter followers of my works, I now have a pot of Agrax Earthshade!

The wife also surprised me with some new dice in a new ammo tin box, done some test rolling and they're not rigged either it appears!

Here is a pic of the spoils.

A good haul scats, clearly you've been a very good servant of the Emperor this year. I always did wonder why the commissariat received a request for up to date service records of all troopers by a commander S. Claws... :P

Been busy with the paints due to having some time for myself and no meddling offspring around.

Even managed to splash some paintwork on the home-brew Vanquisher too. Hopefully get some more done as the day goes on.

Thanks both. My aim is to have the Guard army painted this year for sure. I have never owned a fully painted force before!

Projects, games, new models and bloody life get in the way though I am determined now that drinking, sailing and all other previous distractions are gone.

Anything you think its missing?
