basecoat is just regular flat black spray paint. then the styx brand color change spray, the green/purple/teal kind. it didnt work out right, so i used a lot of coats of watered down tamiya clear blue. this is how it looks now:

Looking good, which method are you using ?

Planning a mechanised Alpha legion force and have been following this thread with interest.

I have noticed that some of the pics people have put up have a shine to them, I have found Army Painter "Anti-shine" Matt varnish is pretty good, if that helps any of you.

im going to get that matt varnish soon, actually.

the color changing sprays just dont work for me. it really only shows up in the sun, and it takes almost a whole can to get it to be really noticeable on even a single marine.

im going to try to get a similar affect by doing a 1:1 mix of silver and green, maybe 2:1 mix, and put a few layers of tamiya clear blue. hoping it'll turn out similar to the pics i posted before.

EDIT: i have a decent plan now. black spray prime. do up a silver/blue mix to make a metalic blue, and put that on. then do a few coats of watered down tamiya clear green, then a coat of watered down tamiya clear blue. it makes it mainly blue, with some green at certain angles.

I think its a Kabuki Miniature or something to that effect. I know I've seen something like it before...somewhere.

yeah, its the kabuki hydra knight. just turned the sword into a spear, and changed the pistol to a plasmagun/blaster (and managed to keep the hydra head on it too).
