+++E Tenebrae Lux III - Realm of Chaos Strategium+++

Recommended Posts

Ah come on forte, we all honor the work of Semper, and the thread was never really derailed. There was some dancing as and banter as part of our victory celebration that's all. I'm sure Semper understands. And in the end, we all accept his call to let it be now.

Well about next year, I will have my final series of important exams during the time of ETL. I hope to be able to participate anyway, but like this time, I will have to keep my contribution small.

Wait! Found a classic from some time ago...

watch this and listen to AYRIA - substance, it fits quite well...

For a little hobby fix for people everyone should convert a chaos 'Semper' marine, as a thank you for running an awesome event.

Ok ok, no more victory dancing. Except for maybe Slaanesh, I don't think the gods appreciate them anyway. Fair enough.

I do feel a little lost though. Over the last three months, this thread has become the go-to place for my online hobby fix. And the Call to Chaos is still two months away. What to do?

Enjoy a well deserved break, so you can come back fresh? That's my plan.

Congrats to all of you, I personally had a great time looking at some of the amazing work that came out (Dayum son, those titans!) and was amazed to see, for the first time in my Warhammer 40k days, Chaos working together with the same purpose!

Same. This event was probably the most 40k related fun I've had since the Eye of Terror campaign, that that's... actually... kinda sad now that I think about it? Anyway, it was a great event, and I look forward to the next one (or at least the next one which I have the energy to participate in, as it will take me a bit to recover my hobbying reserves).

You know, some of us should really get together and collect Semper's weekly summaries, together with notable posts and images from all the strategium threads,, into a single document chronicling this grand event from beginning to end, to record it for posterity, maybe get some comments & interviews from some of the more notable participants - mega vowers, those who organized side events, etc.

Anyone else interested in such a project?

Guys, no more off topic posts.

The next one locks this thread.

Oh, come on Semper, lighten up a little! Join in the party, why doncha?

(I'm out of modeling mojo at the moment, so I hope the Cap'll accept

this animated gif, modified to create the suggestion of myself grabbing

his tush, thus awakening him to the concept of "fun" as metaphorically

represented by a wave of color running up his body, as a token of my

most sincere and heart-felt appreciation for an event masterfully run -

making this a completely on-topic addition to the thread and not at all

one that merits locking it as he had threatened to do in the above quote)

Some people like to play with models, others rather play with fire and then there seem to be some that enjoy both...

For me, I now have a break from work and therefore would have more time for the hobby than during the event, but now I have to find a new place and move house. But afterwards, I plan to continue expanding my army and also get some games in.

Glorious, my brothers and sisters! Well done to all! It saddens me that I cannot share in the joyous moment with you all, but when I return tomorrow from my trip, I will begin with my penance vow.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You helped to motivate early on which was valuable.

You did great in motivating us man - your event sparked others, and it drove me and Forte to do the last minute Corruption Vows, which drew in four more contestants. Razblood and Castelan Cato who brought in 2109 points combined, plus Noisemarine and Namia who -although they didn't finish- each painted beautiful units for their own armies.

So thanks for the Crusade (perhaps you can rekindle it with the Call of Chaos?) and high fives all around the Chaos Strategium!!

Thanks, guys. I really needed that.. happy.png

I think I have a case of, what I shall call, post-competittion blues. I have ZERO motivation to paint now. I wanna save all my models for the next competition biggrin.png. Make up for my fairly small involement in this one.

See I am still painting as that last push lit a fire under me. That's what I love about this event, even after it ends I still find myself painting up a storm before the Fall cool down, Winter planning, and Spring preparation cycle gets me going for next year's ETL.

I know that feeling (and I'm pretty sure I've mentioned that I never want to ever paint another Terminator again haha) - but will probably divert myself with other pleasures. Daemons and the like.

That said, I'm busy for the next few weeks - so returning around the Call of Chaos won't be too much of a problem for me!

i really want to paint now, but dont have time for it, and the time i do jave for warhammer is spent building and sculpting atm, and have a tournament comming up in the last weekend of september that im not sure ill have the energy for, too much is needed to be built and painted for it to be fun, dont do all too well with painting deadlines, this ETL was fun but im alllllll deadlined out atm.

and my head just keep filling up with more and more ideas, starting to doubt i can finish them in my lifetime now :p

I would say that if I had from the beginning of time to the end of time, I might have just enough time to finish all the ideas I have, but according to Stephen Hawking, time has no beginning or end, except those we perceive. So I'd be screwed since I suck at keeping track of time.

Well, I'm not painting anytime soon either. But this is more due to a leak in the valve of my airbrush compressor, which makes my compressor overheat.... ohmy.png I won't be able to fix this until end of september due to time and money constraints, so I'll only be building models until then. I just did a major update on my eight-legged lord of Skulls in my WIP, perhaps nive to take a look at that.

Here's the update, with tons of pics and clarifications on the process of and inspiration for the build.
