I will answer tomorrow - am away from my spreadsheet for today, but suffice to say that you are way ahead in terms of points.

 

But seriously guys, you really need to bring in more recruits. If Chaos is to come on top this year you need to raise your headcount! This is a unique opportunity! You have built a very strong base so far but we are less than a week in the recruiting period... If you lose your momentum it won't be enough of you to see it through.

 

The main difference with the AoD forum is that although you're practically at par in terms of points you have almost half the participants.

 

That means that when the second and subsequent vows come into play this will have a multiplication effect for the AoD that you won't be able to match. Obviously high completion rates will also come into play but the numerical disadvantage is something you can do without. You're still lagging compared to the participation levels of the Call of Chaos...

 

So let's see more Chaos Lords joining the fray... Make this Black Crusade proportions!

Unless Steve and I can magically somehow finish our vows by mid-June and magically drop another five digit vow, but somehow that does not seem a wise strategy , so I agree with Captain Semper, we need more devotees to the Ruinous Powers!

Uprising, those are some nice models.

 

About the paint that won't come off: use brake fluid. It's toxic as all hell so use thick rubber gloves when handling it, but your paint will flake off in layers.

 

It works for metal, plastic, resin, finecast mini's, everything. Enamel, primer and acrylic paints all come off easily.

Don't leave your resin models in longer than 2 days though, or the resin will turn to a sort of rubber.

I couldn't help myself but to start yesterday, so I just got some super dirty snapshots of the before stage. I will take much much better photos for the finished products as they are done. So here's pic 1 of the terminators, bikers, and jugger herald.

and here's pic 2 of the 3 havoc squads, the 3 hq units (sorc, sorc with jump pack, plasma pistol jump pack lord), the spawn, and the other 10 mans that make up the 2 troop units.

Many of the models are not even sprayed yet. 2 of the bikers have a hella bad black legion paint job which i probably can't even do anything to save but to re-prime. Progress is under way, though. Jugger herald gets love first because I think red is about the easiest color to paint for me.

 

EDIT: Just to note, I don't paint black legion, so the paint on the bikers will have little to nothing to do with how they look in the end.

I'm still unpacking, but I should be able to at least assemble and prime my models in the next week.  Then it's two weeks vacation away from home, so I'm not going to get some serious paint going until the last week of May.  It sucks I know -- I'm losing a lot of time -- but the timing is just, well, poopy.

@ Forte: I hear what you're saying... The HH setting is at this point heavily biased towards the Traitor Legions. Having said that, the combination of awesome minis and the ill-received new fluff resulted in no Iron Hands vows for the AoD so far. None. Interesting, yes? 

 

Anyways, Chaos is maiking a fantastic performance this year - keep it up and you'll have nothing to fear... (but fear itself?) :P

Says a lot for how good a job Forge World have done of turning fluff into rules. Even with the traitor legions. There are those happy to give up on Daemons and Daemon engines to have their army closer to the descriptions that made that legion their favourite.

These will surprisingly be dedicated to.... Undivided! All hail the word of Lorgar! (I know I know, but I do have a fluffy explanation.)
All of this for a for a total value of 411 points on or before August 1st. Success will bring eternal glory to the VIIth Host of the Word Bearers, while failure will doom me to bear the Badge of Shame until the year-end.
