Sox's ETL III Thread - Final Group Pics Page 5

Recommended Posts

Hello brothers and sisters!

Here is my official ETL III WIP thread. I'll update my progress here. I'm brand new to the Imperial Guard, so the timing of this event was perfect. I started with a small first vow, A 10 man infantry unit with Vox Caster, Power Weapon and Flamer for 75 Points.

Primed:

I decided to go traditional with this squad and to the classic Tan/Green Scheme: This was a test model, which turned out OK. 9 to go!

My next vow may be a bit bigger:

Stay tuned! Exciting times await!

That cadian looks great especially the finish you got on the tan areas. I think ill have to start a cadian force after im done with my DKoK....the big boxed sets that GW have released are so tempting.

I did a second test model in a grey/green scheme and I really like it. I've decided to go with it instead of the traditional scheme.

I heavily drybrush my models to give a weathered look. What do you all think? C+C welcome!

Also most likely not going to do the eyes... they are pain and I just cant figure out how to do them.

Looks great, quite a unique scheme and it'll look grand with rank upon rank of Guardsmen painted in it :) The dry brushing looks good, what colours did you use? As for eyes you'd have to be pretty mad to paint them on Guardsmen. I paint the underside of tanks and that's my limit for "unnecessary work" :P

Colours: Dawnstone for the grey, Castellan Green for the green, Mourngfang brown. Washed all with Nulin, highlighted with Ulthuan Grey (cloth) and Straken Green (armour). Terminatus Stone on the brown parts and then Dawnstone on the black. Skin is Cadian flesh washed in Seraphim.

Doing HQ models in a darker grey then a Grey/Grey/Green on the tanks.

Very good stuff. I really like the new scheme. His belt kit stands out to me too, that you've paid attention and done the 'soft' stuff brown but his canteen green. Good attention to detail.

And the dry brushing looks great too!

Got the first 5 dudes done. Not based yet, will do as a 10 man group. Better pics will come when they are off the paint bases.

Sox, I love the color scheme! If I didn't already have nearly 250 metal cadians, I really do like the plastic ones better, I'm just too deep into the ones I already have!
