The one that did it for me was 1000heathens, that advice really helped me and after alot of consideration, weighing the pros and cons and a look inwards (getting deep here, I know but stay with me...) I found the answer; I am going to pledge myself to the disciplined ranks of Perturabos IVth legion.

They where the ones that sparked the 30k idea in my head to begin with and that is the legion which suits my personality the best, and they have loads of tanks....and loads of terminators......and warships.......and hazard stripes......and they look badass....and they do siege warfare like a boss.

So now the real work starts, I will begin making a loyalist/ pre heresy Grand Battalion of my own complete with iconography and fluff or maybe I will build a existent Grand Battalion if one strikes my fancy.

And so I leave you to go do some research and once again I kindly thank you all for the help

Brothers I've made a mistake...

A little week ago I was beginning my reasearch into making my own Grand Battalion of Iron Warriors and a feeling that this was just not right kept nagging me. I kept at it a couple of days longer but the thought of the Imperial Fists woudn't go away and I was beginning to question the choice I made. I decided to go into details with the Imperial Fists to see what kept pulling me in and I tried to sketch out a diy company just for kicks and I have to admit I loved it! It felt just right and I was drawn in by their fluff and Dorn would not let me go.

So I tried to make a new test-mini with all the chipping and damage I would want from my finished project and by the time it took me to finish, the spark that started the idea was a bright flame, and so I turned from the path of the Iron Warriors and headed towards the Imperial truth as told by Dorn and his sons.

My new test-mini turned out better that I was expecting and I love it:

I'm sorry to be such a turn-coat but with the scale of building a pre heresy legion, it has to feel perfect and I wouldn't want to try and convince myself that I was making the right choice if my heart wasn't in agreement. So basically sorry 1000Heathens...

Lovely test figure. I'm eternally jealous of people who can paint decent yellow.... And weathering.... And have the funds for full FW armies...

Hate for the ability to paint yellow is worthy hate indeed. I also am challenged with yellow, but would love an IF army. :p
