Members of the Rout, I'm creating this thread to serve as the new home for all 7th Edition FAQ Issues related to the current Space Wolves Codex.  Our own noble Sister Fytharin has volunteered to lead this effort, and I expect all denizens of The Fang to give her their support in creating a one-stop resource for the benefit of all.

Greetings Brothers! 7th Edition is upon us and with it comes new questions and new dilemmas. Thankfully our New FAQ’s page has been posted, which gives us some room to start figuring out how Space Wolves are going to be operating here in the new future when our codex is released. Until then I will be focusing more on the FAQ’s and how our existing codex interacts with the new rules so that we can at least get going in the right direction. As the discussions happen around the BRB I will be referencing some of these Q&A to the appropriate thread where it has been discussed in length, otherwise here you will find a brief description of the problem with an equally brief answer. The aim of this thread is to provide a one stop quick reference for some of the less than clear issues within the game.

As always, there are some arguments that simply will never go away so be sure to address these with your opponents and make sure contentious issues are agreed upon before starting and if all else fails, flip a coin.

-Does Counter Attack still require a leadership test in 7th ed?

* No

Wolf Guard Battle Leaders

-Does a Wolf Guard Battle Leader in a squad on 9 GH(Grey Hunters) count towards to the 10man requirement for the 2nd special weapon?

*No, you must have 10 GH in your unit to pick the 2nd weapon

-If I take a special character like Logan Grimnar and another character of my own invention (Wolf Lord) can I give him Saga of the Majesty and still field both models?

-Yes, per page 64 in our codex special characters are an exception to this rule. This may change when our codex comes out but for now it is still valid.

Named Characters

Njal Stormcaller

-Does Njal’s Vengeful Tornado and Chain Lightning effect fliers? And do you still auto-hit?

* Yes, since there is no BS involved in resolving the effect the effect automatically hits still. Vengeful Tornado per the codex is resolved against their side armor and Chain Lightning would be resolved per normal firing rules, against whichever side is facing Njal.

-What is Njal's DtW (Deny the Witch) roll with all of his bonuses?

* +3/+2 He receives +2 from Staff of the Stormcaller, +1 for being a psyker and if he (or his unit) is being targeted by a level 1 psyker he gets another +1.
