Blood Angels Assault Squad Loadout

Greetings fellow sons of Sanguinius, 

 

I'm pretty new to the hobby and my blood angels have just received some still sprued reinforcements in the form of a box of death company and a box of assault marines. I'm trying to decide how to build them and right now I'm thinking a plasma pistol and power fist for the sergeant and a melta gun for 2 of the other guys however I only have 1 meltagun from my tactical squad set :( and don't know how to proceed. So now I'm looking for ideas- even if they include not going the route of 2 meltas and a power fist.

Hey, fella, you might want to swing this over to the Blood Angels sub-forum for extra advice.

I'd say DON'T put the plasma pistol on the sarge. I'd hesitate about the fist, but plasma pistols aren't really worth their points and once you combine that with the powerfist you've got a very expensive 1 wound 3+ model that may well not have any opportunity to make those points back. That said, if game effectiveness and points efficiency aren't your primary drivers then go with whatever combo you feel is best.

You could order a meltagun online from ebay or various bits sellers. Or, if you're not planning on using the infernus pistols elsewhere you could have an assault marine holding both as a counts-as meltagun.

Thanks for the advice both on the squad war gear and on the location of the post. I've already done one of them and will probably do the second soon.
