Grey Knights & Inquisition - Finished interceptors

Thanks Barn!

Not the most exciting of updates but just to show I'm making some progress on the other stuff. I've got the silver basecoat, zenithal highlights and post shading on all of this lot now. Followed by a wash of nuln oil through the airbrush to dull it all down, so I can edge highlight and drybrush bits here and there.

I need to fill some joins on the magnetised weapons and I also want to change the pilot a bit with some spare GK parts before I start on the interior. Aiming to have another update on the weekend but who am I kidding...

@deathspecter Cheers smile.png

I've had these two squads sitting around for a while as I got them 2nd hand primed black a while back. I've got three boxes of brand new GK unopened but I was being a bit lazy at the time. I had to do some mouldline cleanup, swapped in some spares to give the interceptors falchions and fixed a few dodgy poses but they're passable now if you don't look under the arms too closely. Had to cut them all off the bases as the previous owner had used so much plastic glue which was a pain in the backside. I had debated using 32mm bases, but it'd mean I'll have to rebase the other squad in power armour and I'm not sure I can be bothered at this stage.

Just went over them tonight and did the basecoat and zenithal highlight, then got the force weapons ready in white. So now there's quite a bit of stuff sitting in the queue at the same stage. I think I'll save the force weapons until I've got the gold out of the way as a little break for myself. Airbrushing is way more enjoyable than picking out basecoat colours.

The graduation on the armour and the white helmets isn't too obvious in the photos but it is there. Hopefully the washes will bring it out a bit more.

More updates later on the weekend I think.

@BetterOffShred - Thanks! Yeah I use the airbrush a lot, I found it a massive timesaver for basecoats in particular and the vallejo model air metallics are great to work with.

@Doghouse - Cheers man, appreciate it smile.png

@Brother Callius - Thanks and yeah they're not exactly the most fearsome of vehicles! But here's a little update for you, I started on the heraldry tonight after doing black washes on everything else. Need to do a gloss coat tomorrow so I can add skull decals then start weathering it.

I made some decent progress on the dreadnought, which now needs some final details painting, highlights, the force weapon and a little weathering. The rhino now has the decals applied so once I've got the lenses and other details painted then it's time for some weathering too. Getting there slowly but surely and updating this log is definitely helping my motivation as I can see it gradually ticking along.

Small update as I've not had much time this past week, but I managed to get the dread all done (apart from the base) and spray some force weapons while I did the dreads. Not the best photo unfortunately as it's bleached the highlights, so I'll try to get a better one once it's on the base.

It's been a while, but there has been some progress. Between wedding planning and work i've had a bit of time to do some painting.

The dread is finished, but I haven't had time to get a better photo. There's also another one with his big brother who's now got some magnetised options of sword, hammer, psilencer and psycannon to go with his incinerator.

Last but not least i've made some good progress on the two hq's. They just need some touching up here and there along with some more highlights.

Thanks for the comments!

@dogfender I used 2mm x 1mm magnets on wrists and also the spare arms, which work well though the arms can be a little prone to falling off when knocked. With hindsight I think I'd use 3mm x 1mm on the arms and probably on the wrists too just for extra staying power as you have enough space on the terminators due to the hands being larger.

@HardCoil I haven't got any paint on him as yet, I've left him until last as I wanted to get all of the core GK stuff done first once they'd taken inquisition out of the codex. I will get around to him though! I really like the look of the dreads so I like to use him anyway and the people I game with aren't super competitive so he does ok if not amazingly. He's still not managed to get into CC so I think I'll paint up lascannon and missile launcher arms for a bit of long range support at some point.

@CMF - Thanks, it's a lovely model!

I've got a few things finished over the past week so there's not much left of my Grey Knights on the painting table. Which is pretty exciting for me as it means I can start a new project or two (Imperial Guard / Heresy Night Lords) in the next couple of months. Still left are 5 interceptors, the rhino, Storm Raven, Draigo and the two inquisitors which are all in various states of WIP. The rhino only needs weathering so I'll have to make that a priority, then probably the Storm Raven.

Grand Master/Brother Captain & Librarian - The sword and psycannon are magnetised so I can swap for a hammer/halberd and storm bolter if needs be.

Purifers are done, but I rushed them towards the end so there are a few sloppy bits here and there unfortunately.

Sorry in advance but I never got a decent photo of the dreadnought so here's yet another one...

I had to do a bit of modification to the psycannon, but it should work on most arms. One thing you'll also have to look out for it the shoulder pad getting in the way so make sure you dry fit it, but this depends on the arm you use.

I sliced some notches out of the psycannon which I've ringed in the photo and placed next to an unmodified one for comparison. That's the main part but I also did a little bit of sanding to the arm and gun to get a more snug fit. If yours isn't magnetised then this should be a lot easier as you can fill any gaps with some greenstuff.

The bottom two photos are just to show how it lines up and how it fits together, I hope that helps!
