Boson
First, let me apologize for my english . Feel free to correct any incoherences. Here's my chapter's fluff in brief. I hope you'll like it : For ten thousand years, they've been hiding in the shadows of the imperium, secretly assisting humanity in the hope to find redemption. Following the visions of Lamios Fidiles, a psyker inquisitor of the ordo xenos with dubious behaviours, they donned their armours once again. This chapter of hazy origins overtly fight for the imperium, while secretly helping a small Tau force (whose WIP you can follow on ATT here). Without them noticing, they believe this young race's ingenuity and nigh inexistent influence on the warp might be one of the last hope in the war against chaos... Well that's what I heard from an informer, but you never know with Alpha Legion. They might actually be looking for Omegon's cat, but I digress. Of their former legion, they kept the deep blue that allowed them to melt into the nights, and the dark green of the Hydra as a an echo of their past glories. As to the silver that embellished their armour's edges, only bones could remain, ever the reminder of their sins. I first intended this chapter as an allied force for my tau cadre, but with the recent changes brought by 7th edition, I'll probably extend it to a full chapter. So far, I'm almost done with my chief librarian (The model is Sevrin). The inquisitor spoken of above is quite close too. An honour guard and rhino are also WIP. Librarian (Sevrin, no real name yet), still have to paint the axe and the flock the base, and probably paint back the lenses. it's a bit dusty as well, sorry about that : http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee454/polluxduyemen/c0ff6630-6e92-4aa1-8946-174919d84fb6.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee454/polluxduyemen/1158691f-6d0a-4cff-96a2-f28fe938a8e4.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee454/polluxduyemen/f62bafe5-be2f-4cc6-b943-9417f47ab3b8.jpg Lamios Fidiles, the inquisitor. The colours were just applied so far to have a better view on the different details. No paint is even close as done on this one. The bionic leg was done using slipshod's excellent tutorial : http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee454/polluxduyemen/540acccd-757c-48e6-b6a5-e046025a6ffa.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee454/polluxduyemen/35ed740e-9584-4e17-9809-bd709acaec2f.jpg His force sword : http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee454/polluxduyemen/44023b80-6051-49c3-9e9c-4f65ecfac290.jpg Honour guard WIP : http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee454/polluxduyemen/454baeda-caed-465d-a24e-c86123c274f0.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292022-loyal-alpha-legion-remnants-the-sons-of-echidna/ Share on other sites
Lucien Eilam
I'm sure you were thinking "Greek mother of monsters", but you might want to consider that for a lot of people, the first thing they'll think is "spiny anteater". Studio Silvernale
The scilla might be more accurate? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292022-loyal-alpha-legion-remnants-the-sons-of-echidna/#findComment-3709359 Share on other sites
Boson
I'm sure you were thinking "Greek mother of monsters", but you might want to consider that for a lot of people, the first thing they'll think is "spiny anteater". Yeah I thought about it. But there was several reason why I chose this one over other better known creatures. First, the fact this name implies that they consider themselves as monsters for what they did, which is some kind of punishment. Second, on the french wikipedia, echidna is described as the embodiment of primordial chaos. Though mythology often bears several versions of the myth, I chose deliberatly to consider this option as one of the versions that passed to the 30-40k contemporary. That plus the mother of all monsters convinced me, though I know native english speakers will have some fun reading it^^. The scilla might be more accurate? I'm pretty sure Scylla is more accurate ;). Joke appart, scylla is less explicitly linked to snakes than echidna, and she was cursed, rather than having a true evil nature. And she was in some versions the daughter of echidna, while she didnt give birth to monsters herself.
