4K Apoc Iron Warriors

Hey guys!

*Edit: as Kitwulfen pointed out, I cannot combine RoW and onslaught. Thus, disregard that bit of the text, and consider this apocalypse material.*

This is a continuation of my list in a recent topic, but seeing as the circumstances (points level and force org of choice) are different I thought I'd post another thread rather than add to the first. Sorry if this is a bother. tongue.png I was thinking of how to beef up my list to 4k, and thought of the extra HS available in an onslaught force. Studying the chart, it hit me that it also allows dual LoW. Thus, behold:

Force org/RoW: Onslaught/Hammer of Olympia

HQ

-Warsmith, servo arm 135pts

Elites

-Apothecarion Detachement, x3 apothecaries, Augury Scanner 150pts

Troops

-Legion Tactical Squad, 20 men, Legio Vexilla, Nuncio Vox, Extra CCW, Melta Bombs on Srg. 295pts

-Legion Tactical Squad, 20 men, Legio Vexilla, Nuncio Vox, Extra CCW, Melta Bombs on Srg. 295pts

-Legion Tactical Squad, 20 men, Legio Vexilla, Nuncio Vox, Extra CCW 290pts

Fast Attack

-Primaris Lightning Strike Fighter, Battle Servitor Control & 2 pairs of Kraken Penetrator Missile 200pts

-Primaris Lightning Strike Fighter, Battle Servitor Control & 2 pairs of Kraken Penetrator Missile 200pts

Heavy Support

-Sicaran Battle Tank, Lascannon Sponsons, 175 pts

-Sicaran Battle Tank, Lascannon Sponsons, 175 pts

-Whirlwind Scorpius, 115pts

-Whirlwind Scorpius, 115pts

-Legion Artillery Tank Squadron, 3x Medusae, 465pts

Lord of War

-Typhon Heavy Siege Tank, Armoured Ceramite, 370pts

-Typhon Heavy Siege Tank, Armoured Ceramite, 370pts

-Legion Fellglaive, Armoured Ceramite, 650pts

Basically, we're talking my old list with a Glaive and two Sicarans tacked on. The Sicarans are actually the only thing I already own, the rest will be bought during the summer, so they were a no-brainer. The Glaive, well... can you imagine the sight of such a centerpiece, flanked on each side by a typhon? Hot. Damn.

I now wonder about options to further tweak the list. I've considered going Fellblade rather than Glaive in order to have some room for upgrades, but the Glaive seems more lucrative to me. I'd love opinions on this. Another option is dropping a medusa, but I don't know about that. unsure.png

Anyway, would love your input. This forum is ace! biggrin.png

Sigh. Whenever I have an awesome idea, I find I've managed to overlook that one sentence that ruins all the fun for me. But you're right, Kitwulfen, might as well consider this an apoc force and be done with it.

Also noticed I've priced the CCW:s wrong, they're 20pts more per squad. Thus I'm dropping them for Armoured Ceramite on the Sicarans and 15pts to play around with.

Well, if your opponents are gonna agree to the Onslaught force org in the first place, maybe they're alright with combining it with the RoW.

60 tac marines might be a little thin for this point level, but you definitely make up for it in the amount of armor you bring.  Might not have any scoring units left on the table at the end, but you might just table your opponent anyway.  I think, in the balance of things, I would want those lascannon sponsons on the Typhons and not the Sicarans - they're just plain tougher, can move and shoot them more effectively, and they can fire them independently if needed.

Not sure how much help I can be otherwise, the metagame at such a high point level isn't something I have a lot of experience with.

60 boots isn't much indeed, I suppose I suffer from a slight "toys before boys" syndrome. Then again, since we've moved into 7th, aren't everything scoring? Just lacking Objective Secured, which I can make up for with some pie-plates. tongue.png

That's true enough, but we also don't know for certain how that's going to mesh with the HH rules - FW might put out a FAQ that says only troops are scoring unless specified otherwise, and that unbound lists are no bueno for the HH (Age of Darkness Force Orgs only).
