Path of the Dark Eldar

Hello brothers and sisters!

Basically I really enjoyed Path of the Eldar, is Path of the Dark Eldar more of the same?

Secondly, if it is worth getting hold of, where is the best place? Black Library don't seem to sell the first two novels in physical format anymore, and the omnibus isn't available until next year. I have a Kindle but I'd much rather this series in singular novel format to match my Path of the Eldar ones. I've looked in my local Waterstones too but no luck.

Thirdly, BL have a few £1.50 eshorts available that (judging by the covers) fit into the series. Are these necessary reading for the series? They're Bellathonis and the Shadow King and The Treasures of Biel-Tanigh, if anyone remembers them.

Many thanks in advance biggrin.png

Path of Dark Eldar is a little different as its chambers rather than gav. IIRC there are more POV characters then gav's (Less POV is better IMO).

Overall I consider them better than Path of Eldar, but that maybe the subject matter. I love the Incubi for example. Chambers represents commargh pretty well, DE methods/disorganisation pretty well. Path of the renegade is also the weakest of the three IMO, while Archon was the most enjoyable for me.

IMO the shorts are unnecessary but decent of the ones I've read. Of them I would recommend masque of vyle novella as it involves harlies. The shorts all do link up quite nicely.

No idea where to buy either.

The Dark Eldar series is far superior to the Path of the Eldar books, IMO of course. The DE books are just so much more fun, you can tell than Andy Chambers had a blast writing them. The novella, Masque of Vyle, is hands down the best novella produced by Black Library, so if you can, check that one out too. It fits nicely right between Renegade and Incubus

The shorts are nice, but not necessary for full enjoyment of the series.

No idea where to purchase the first two, so your best best is probably the ebook version, at least until the omnibus comes out.

I . . . have a divergent opinion, apparently.  I disliked Path of the Renegade immensely.  It seemed to meander with little in the way in the way of focus, and I didn't feel like even the author knew where the story going at first.  I've got Path of the Incubus as well, and I've started on it twice and have stopped twice because it just doesn't grab my attention or imagination.  It's not quite as painful as reading Eldar Prophecy was. . . but it was close.
