To camouflage, or not to camouflage?

That is a sexy camo job, definitely spruces up the model a bit!

Cheers. Been busy weathering it tonight. No pigments used though. All paint.

Had a go last night. Ignore the tracks as I still need to pick out the raised areas in a dark grey metal.

Not sure if the weathering really shows up though.

Great job! Looks good. As was recommend to me, you gotta dirty it up a bit around the tracks and hull... mud mud mud!

Nope. No mud on an ash waste ;) But it does need more weathering.

Looking good so far.

Perhaps some close-ups of weathered areas?

This any good? ;)

Did some more weathering on the Stormsword as it wasn't really showing much. Prefer it now so I started work on the guns and engine area.

I took a couple more to show how the weathering is from a little closer.

Any ideas always welcome. Though I wont be using any weathering powders as I don't have any so it's all paint.

Looks good.

I suppose you could have some Nuln Oil or Typhus Corrosion streaking down from bolts and whatnot.

Or try for some scratches (thin dark line with lighter line under).

Graffiti and kill marks later, I'm guessing.

More likely chestnut wash, brown wash, and armour wash for me. Trying to decide on any graffiti.

Yup. Foam sponge and charadon granite then some boltgun metal in the heavier areas.

I've been looking at some military modelling forums too lately so I'm going to try the less is more approach with dirt running from rivets etc.

If only it weren't such a disgusting blasphemy to the Omnissiah in the name of your heathen Gods!

Props for being the only Slaaneshi converter to not put something silly like a hot tub or metal band on it. Further props on the excellent paint job! :D

Those have no place on the battlefield. My head doesn't even connect those sort of things with my Slaanesh force.

I wanted this to look like a new acquisition. That way I could try out weathering and camouflage. Have it tell a little story. For example:

6 crew to a Stormsword = 6 flayed faces.

Large Aquila has head removed.

Was captured due to it being number 6 and being called Extremis.

Renamed 'Soul Flayer' which is sprayed on the side in dark tongue.

Fine work forte, well done! What's your next model going to be? :P

Unfortunately I can't post my next pieces on B&C. Both are on my blog though (click the Forté Nocturnus banner in my signature).

After those it'll be back to things I can post on B&C. No Guard though, although I did enjoy weathering this tank so you never know.
