Son of a gun.

Honest to god, I am feeling very conflicted right now.

Are they pre-made stencils or did you make them wourself?

How?

Seriously.

I hsve spent several years doing knotwork on my tanks & had a bad etl basically botching 6 of them, plus it takes me ages to do mine, so any advice o the stencils would be so much appreciated right about now..

I wanna know as well.

I got a lot of empty space on my Spartans that need prettying up

Haha i already mentioned this is Dantay, but i caved and bought a Stencil/cutting machine on amazon. Its under 200 and its easy to set up and use. Well worth the money. I highly recommend one

Could you maybe pm me the link to the cutter you bought, 'cause all the ones I see on amazon are ridiculously expensive.

Got more done on the and raider.

It doesn't really have much wash on it. I'm not sure if it's dark enough though. All my troops have a balck wash on them to bring their grey down to a darker color.

What would be the best way to was this to make it darker and not have any streaking?

Also how should I better weather it to make it look more realistic?

And I also got my praetor and first three outsiders primed!

Ps

The black track guards will be getting knot work and weathered.

Also need to clean up a few things.

I am all in all happy with it but would like to take my painting to the next level. Thanks again guys!

Sounds like you should try the "pin wash" technique. Basically you apply your oil wash only to the nooks and details that you want to shade. As opposed to an "all over wash" that is typically done on figures. After the mineral spirits evaporate, you can clean up any unintended marks with a q-tip or brush moistened with mineral spirits.

Just google "pin wash" for a better explanation.

These wolves are looking fantastic so far!

Would love to see more about your stencil work too. I'm curious enough to get a stencil cutter if I could do something as small as legion symbols on shoulder pads.

edit: Actually check out the "Filter" technique if you're looking to darken and tone the overall grey without leaving streaks.

So I got a it more work done.

I sprayed the entire thing in thin thin black wash. I finally the color that matches the rest of the army. I left the hatch thing over the thudd cannon the old color so you can see the difference. I am waiting for the rest of my pigments to arrive before I finish it.

Also here is my leas outsider bike. Chipping is done but still waiting on pigments. The front will have knotwork on it. Enjoy!
